Scene 8

*Interior. Restaurant. CJ is confused to what's happening with Kaylee.*

CJ: What happened? Is Kaylee mad at me? Is it something I said?

Angelina: No it's nothing you said. It's something that girl said.

Spencer: Mhm.

CJ: Well what happened?

Angelina: Well before I tell you, answer me this. That purple dress that Kaylee bought. What do you think of it?

CJ: It's really nice. Why?

Angelina: Well we bumped into your friend at the store we went to. Probably before you did. But she went on about how Kaylee was big. Too big to wear the dress at least.

CJ: No. Really?

Angelina: Yeah. Then she went on about how she probably needed make up.

CJ: Oh my god. I can't believe I didn't know about this.

Spencer: Well you could have.

CJ: Spencer. I owe you a massive apology. I was acting like an ass. I was just stoked cuz a pretty girl seemed into me and I was TOTALLY blinded by it. I should have listened to you. I'm sorry man.

Spencer: Don't worry about it man. It's not me you should be worried about.

*Kaylee walks out of the washroom. Face partially red. Likely from crying.*

CJ: Hey Kaylee...?

Kaylee: Yeah CJ. What is it?

CJ: They just told me about...you know...what Melissa said. I'm so so so sorry. You don't deserve that.

Kaylee: Thanks for saying that. But you don't have to. I know what I am.

CJ: Stop that! Are you blind? You are very pretty and Melissa just became a million times uglier because of this. She isn't even worth my time. Actually...

*CJ takes out his phone and calls Melissa*

Kaylee: What are you doing?

CJ: You'll see. Just give me a sec.

*Melissa picks up.*

Melissa: Hey you! I didn't think you'd call.

CJ: Hey Melissa. I'm calling quick to let you know that this ain't gonna work out. I heard about what you said to my sister and my friend.

Melissa: Oh CJ. Relax. It's not like I said it to your sister!

DJ: Well you still said it to someone I really care about. And besides, I don't wanna be with someone that shallow. So do me a favour, lose my number. Have a good night.

*CJ hangs up the phone.*

Angelina: I can't believe you did that.

Spencer: Damn CJ. Way to go. You told her. Put her in her place. Humble her.

Kaylee: You didn't need to do that CJ... But thank you.

CJ: Yes I did...you know what? Spence, I'm gonna do it.

Spencer: Do what? You're gonna...wait? Seriously?

Angelina: Do what?

Spencer: You're in for a surprise.

*CJ walks up to the DJ and talks for a brief moment. The DJ motions for Peter to come onto the stage.*

Peter: Alright everyone it seems like we have another person willing to put themselves out there for karaoke night! Put your hands up and together for CJ Aquino!

Samantha: Wait! CJ?

Christian: What is he doing up there?

Spencer: Looks like everyone is in for a surprise

CJ: What's up everyone. Um...this song...goes out to a special someone who could use some cheering up tonight. *points at DJ* Hit it man.

*DJ plays instrumental to Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney. CJ starts to sing. He's incredible.*

Angelina: OH MY GOD!

Christian: What in the good name of the lord?

Samantha: Is that our son?! He can sing?!

Patrick: Not only sing! He can sing well!

Frankie: Go CJ!

Spencer: Atta be boy! Waitress! One order of those wings that could kill me!

*Kaylee smiles throughout the entire song Spencer and Angelina start singing along. Once finished, the crowd goes absolutely insane. CJ walks back to the table.*

Angelina: Well. What the hell have you been hiding??

Samantha: CJ that was so good!

Christian: It was incredible!

Frankie: Stupendous!

Parker: Fantastic!

Spencer: Angelic!

CJ: Thanks everyone. *looks at Kaylee.* So?...

Kaylee: You're amazing DJ. I loved it. Thank you.

*CJ nods at Kaylee*

Samantha: Why haven't we known this??

Angelina: Yeah what gives!

CJ: Nobody asked.

*Everyone groans*

Patrick: Well on that note, PETER! WINGS AND FRIES FOR ALL OF US!

*Kaylee and CJ smile at each other.*
