DECLAN'S POV

Sitting in my dad's office, I wasn't getting to do anything because my anger was raising with every passing second.

He had decided to bring up the topic I dreaded most. I didn't want to talk to him about mom of all people. Mom had requested to meet but all he was saying was telling me how I should know it's her fault she left us.

"Well Reinherd, it's all your fault that your two kids have no mother." I yelled back at him.

"She fuckin left you and Mia when you were little but you! You don't want to see it." He said standing from his table.

"Well, if you weren't being some workaholic, she would have stayed." I spat.

"You know what, just go and rest. With time, you will learn that I had no intentions of making you and Mia motherless." He dismissed sitting back on his chair.

"Thank God, I had to leave this hell hole of an office." I stood up and walked out on him.

It was now Tuesday. I hadn't gone home the previous night. I stayed at my apartment completing whatever work he couldn't do himself or even his Mistress.

I reached the parking lot and got in my car driving off to the main house. Being away the previous day would be enough.

I finally pulled up in the driveway. It was already getting dark outside.

I entered the house and was met with cheerful noise from the living room. I walked to the living room where I was met with Mia who immediately grinned after seeing me. She had been on her seat.
Tiana sat on the couch with Avery and looked like they were watching something.

"Hey princess," I greeted scooting to Mia's height who had run into my arms.

"Hey, Deck. You left me." She said frowning.

"Don't frown baby," I said pinching her cheeks softly. " I won't leave you ever,okay?"

"Promise?" She sticked out her pinky.

"Promise." I said linking my pinky with her little finger. She was my cute little baby and I was going to to anything to make her happy.

I carried her on my hip and proceeded to the couch where Tiana sat with Avery facing away.

Was she pissed at me? I had promised to pick her from school the previous day but I knew her friend would drive her. I realized it later when it was already late.

I reached up to them and she looked up at me but her usual smile was washed away replaced by a frown. Maybe staying away without informing anyone wasn't a good idea.

We looked at each other silently for sometime until Avery seemed to sense the slight tension and broke the silence,"Welcome back favorite cousin." Sarcasm dripping from her voice.

"Hey my favorite cousin." I mimicked her making her scowl in return.

"Seriously where were you the whole two days?" She asked Changing her expression to pure seriousness.

"Hmmm...... " I tapped my chin like I was in deep thoughts. "Did you miss me?" I smirked.

"Dream on, dumbass." She turned away. " But just so you know, you have to answer meanwhile even if you won't answer me, you will answer elsewhere." She shrugged.
