Giyuu's POV
Y/n and I made sure to get far away from the town before someone realized that there were demons in Takeyama. People still thought it was just a rumor. Y/n was still feeling down and I didn't even have a clue why. I wanted to ask her but at the same time I didn't wanna open a can of worms. After some careful consideration though, I took a risk. "Why are you upset?" I asked her. She took a breath in. Please don't yell at me, please don't yell at me, please don't yell at me, PLEASE don't yell at me, a single drop of sweat formed on my forehead as I thought to myself. "Why do you look like you're about to be lectured by your mother?" Y/n joked. I laughed a bit at her joke cause I knew she wasn't gonna rip my head off. "I have really bad luck when it comes to the butterfly girls" I explained to her. "What do you mean?" She asked. "They're all really mean to me and I don't know why" I said. "I can see where you're coming from. Shinobu has always been like that and Aoi is basically a mini-Shinobu if you think about it but, they truly care about you" Y/n explained. "That's surprising" I said. "It's true, I wouldn't have wisteria flowing through my blood if it wasn't for Shinobu's concern about me" Y/n said. "Is it because of the arrows?" I asked. "Yeah, you've seen how I struggled to fight but, it's the only way I can do my job" Y/n explained. I still thought Y/n was stronger than what she gave herself credit for. "Anyways I don't think I answered your question" Y/n reminded me. "But...Masako wasn't exactly an evil demon" Y/n said. "What do you mean?" I asked her. "When I fought her, she got angry and her face changed into a more unattractive face. I don't think she had control of it though. She seemed a little embarrassed about it" Y/n spoke her mind to me. "That makes sense" I agreed with her statement. "I think she just wanted to feel beautiful" Y/n said. "If it makes you feel any better, I know for a fact that not all demons are evil" I said. "What?" Y/n asked. "Two years ago, I met a boy and his sister. She had just been turned into a demon so I had to kill her. Her brother was so protective of her that he actually tried to fight me. I had to fight back and make him stand down but his sister attacked me in order to protect her brother" I explained. "That's shocking. What happened next?" Y/n asked. I could tell she was interested in the story. "I spared his sister and they both became Demon Slayers" I said. "I wish every demon was like that. Maybe we could've coexisted" Y/n said. From what I heard, she was just like Kanae. After walking for a while, we both heard something in the bushes. It was probably some small animal. "Giyuu wait" Y/n said to me. She slowly approached the bush and she made me worry. "Y/n are you sure this is safe?" I asked her. "I'm fine" she replied without a thought. She kneeled down close to the bush and then a brown rabbit hopped into her hands. She turned around and showed me with a smile. It was actually really cute to witness. "I told you it was safe" Y/n said to me. She sat down again and petted the bunny and I sat next to her. I gently tapped the rabbit's nose and it wiggled its whiskers. "Wow it actually likes me" I said. "You know, people and animals like you more than you think" Y/n said to me. I stared into her eyes and she stared into mine for a moment. I truly admired her beauty and her kindness. "Y/n L/n! Giyuu Tomioka! I have a mission for the two of you!" I heard a raspy female's voice. Y/n looked up and she saw her crow. "Manami what is it?" Y/n asked. "There is a demon in a nearby village. Rumor says that he's a chef who's very strict and kills his workers when he's frustrated" Manami explained to us. "Okay, we'll be there" Y/n spoke to her crow. "Good luck and be safe...both of you" Manami said before she flew away.
Y/n's POV
I waited for the rabbit to hop out of my lap and then I got up. "Let's go" I said to Giyuu. We both started walk quickly until we got to the village. I started realizing how much I liked talking to Giyuu. He may have seemed cold on the outside but once you got to know him, he was really nice. After thirty minutes we finally got to the village. The first thing that we were greeted with was the sound of a man yelling. "DON'T COME BACK UNTIL YOU KNOW HOW TO COOK A DECENT UDON" we heard. A young man came out of a restaurant crying. I gave a glance to Giyuu and then gave him my weapon. "Find us a place to stay and I'll take care of this" I ordered him. Giyuu and I went our separate ways for the time being. I approached the man and asked him some questions. "Excuse me sir, do you think I'd be able to get a job inside this restaurant?" I asked, pointing at the restaurant. "Are you sure you wanna work in there?" He asked me. "Yeah I think I'll be fine" I reassured him. "Okay, do what you want lady, but the head chef is really strict so don't get him pissed" The man informed me. "Okay" I said before walking inside the restaurant. It was a really well put together place. It was a very formal place to have a meal and it looked like something from a red-light district. "Hello ma'am would you like a table to sit at?" A man asked. "I'm not here to dine, I'm actually interested in getting a job" I explained to the man. I could tell that he was the one who yelled earlier. "Okay, let me do a mini interview" The man said. We sat down at an empty table. The man sat in front of me and started his interview. "Well, my name is Hachirō. I've been working here for 40 years" He introduced himself. "I'm Y/n, I know I'm pretty young but I've been cooking since I was 10 and I want to make a good career out of the thing I love the most" I explained to Hachirō. "I see, so you have experience?" He asked. I nodded my head. "Do you think you're ready to work here?" Hachirō asked me. "Yes sir" I answered his question. He took a deep breath in. "Well you're hired, you start now" Hachirō flashed a huge grin at me. "Thank you so much", I said as I got up and bowed at him.
