Opening your locker to find a wave of books and papers falling out right in front of you was not a good start to your day. Luckily your best friend Teresa was there by your side to help pick everything up. As you shoved everything back in your locker she just shook her head. "You are aware that doing that will cause all your things to fall out again the next time you open your locker, right?" You shrugged. "That's a problem that I will deal with in the future." You almost couldn't even finish your sentence before you heard a rush of screams and someone yell "Out of the way! Comin' through!" This happened a lot. Typical Thomas, skateboarding in places he shouldn't be. You leaned against your locker to avoid getting hit. As Thomas skated by he shot you a smirk and a wink. For some reason this small action made your heart flutter. "Umm... Excuse me. Did I just see Thomas Sangster wink at the innocent y/n?" Okay so it wasn't just your imagination. "I-I think so." You stuttered. Suddenly the bell rang. "Shoot I'm going to be late to class, see ya later Teresa!" You waved back as you rushed to class.
Finally it was lunch and you were sitting at your usual table with Teresa, and a few more of your friends. As you were talking about your science class Teresa cut you off. "Y/n duck!" Without questioning you lowered your head, as did everyone else at the table, and out of nowhere Thomas skateboarded over your table. You were a little scared but more amazed that he actually made it that far. As Thomas landed, he spun around to face you and your friends. "Sorry to disturb you, y/n could I talk to you for a minute?" You stood up, trying not to blush. "Have you ever heard of walking up to someone and tapping them on the shoulder instead of jumping over them to get their attention?" You smiled as you walked out into the hall with Thomas. "That's not how I do things, love." He smiled. "Anyways, I was wondering if you would like to go to dinner with me?" You liked how confident he was, but you could tell he was a bit nervous. "I'd love to, how about tonight?" You smiled, feeling very happy, but also a little nervous. "I can't, I have detention. How about tomorrow?" You giggled, it was funny how he acted as if detention was such a normal thing, well for him it was. "Sounds good, see you then." You walked back into the cafeteria and he skated away down the hall. "What was that about?" Dylan asked as you sat back down. "I'm going on a date with Thomas tomorrow." You smiled and blushed. "Shut up! The bad boy asking out little miss perfect? This will be interesting. Not to mention how cute he his." Both you and Teresa started giggling. "Hey!" Dylan pouted. Teresa and Dylan had been a couple for almost 4 months now. "Awe you're still my favourite guy." Teresa hugged Dylan and he wrapped his arm around her.
The next day went by so fast, but when you got home it felt like you were waiting for Thomas for hours and hours, even though he picked you up at the exact time he said he would. "So anyways" Thomas paused to take a drink of water. "I was skating down the stairwell, and then I look down to see Mrs. Simpson is standing right at the bottom. It's not like I can stop, so I just jumped off the railing, forgetting about my skateboard. I looked up just in time to see it hit her right in the face." Both you and Thomas burst out laughing. "And that's how I got 4 weeks detention and my skateboard confiscated for the 3rd time." That was probably one of the funniest stories you had ever heard. "Wait, is that how Mrs. Simpson got her crooked nose?" You asked in between laughs. "Guilty." Something you didn't understand was how misunderstood Thomas really was. Most people thought of him as the guy who would rob a store on a dare, like he was a total jackass, but that wasn't the case. This was probably one of the best dates you had been on in years. "Where did you learn to skate so well?" You asked finishing your food. "Do you want me to show you?" You were intrigued, so you nodded and the two of you stood up. Pulling some cash out of your purse Thomas stopped you. "No, you are not paying for anything love." Thomas set the money down on the table and helped you put your coat on. What a gentlemen.
You reached an old skating park that looked like it hadn't been fixed up in years, the place felt like a ghost town. "This is where I spent my childhood." He said spinning in a circle. "Why here?" You asked walking over to him. "Well, growing up, my family didn't really have a lot of money, so I started working a ton of part time jobs at once to help out, you know, food, clothes, stuff for my little sister, and since I didn't have the money to get a car for years, I skated everywhere. And finally I made enough money and my family didn't need my help anymore, so I got a car, although I don't use it a lot be used of gas and such." You had never realized how much Thomas had sacrificed in his life to get to where he was now. "Why are you using your car now then?" Thomas laughed. "What, you think I'm going to let you ride around on the back of my skateboard or something? I may just be a skater boy but I have manners." You smiled and shook your head. "You are so much more than just a skater boy." Thomas walked over to his car and pulled his board out of the trunk. "You brought that?" He smiled. "Never leave home without it." He hopped on and started skating circles around you. It always impressed you how well he could skate. "Do you want to try?" In all your life you had never seen anyone even touch Thomas' skateboard other than teachers, let alone ride it. "Okay." You were hesitant to get on, but when Thomas started pulling you around the park it was so much fun. Stepping off the board you giggled. "Now I see why you like riding this thing so much." Thomas grinned from ear to ear. "I was really nervous to ask you out, I kept saying to myself, "why would she say yes to me" but when you did I was the happiest guy ever." You grabbed his hands and stepped back on his skateboard so you were the same height. "I would never turn down such an amazing guy like you." You leaned in and kissed him. You may be all alone in an old run down skater park, but you didn't care, as long as Thomas was with you.
A/n: I got this idea off of Instagram or Tumblr I think. Sorry if it doesn't exactly match his personality, but I hope you like it.
