Tomorrow. One more day until your birthday! Most people don't get as excited about their birthday as you but you couldn't help it. Its not like you made a huge list of things you wanted and acted like a spoiled brat, but it was fun to have a small get together with your friends and have some cake and pizza and just chill out. As you thought about what you were going to wear you got a text from Thomas. "So tomorrow's the big day, feeling old yet?" You giggled and responded a few seconds later, just to make sure you didn't look like you were constantly on your phone 24/7, which you kind of were. "You're lucky it's me you're talking to, if you said that to any other girl they'd kick your ass." Thomas was your best friend in the whole world so obviously you didn't care if he made jokes about you. "True, should I go buy some drinks for tomorrow?" He asked "You can if you want, but it might be difficult to buy drinks when people keep mistaking you for a 16 year old." The main reason you let him make jokes about you was because you made even more jokes about him and his baby face, which you thought was actually pretty cute, but still fun to make fun of. "Haha very funny, I deserved that, see you tomorrow ;)" You could never figure out why but he always seemed to leave little smiley faces when the two of you texted, obviously you didn't mind, it was sweet, but why? Before you could think much of it there was a knock at the door. When you opened it Kaya rushed in with several shopping bags in her hands. She started speaking before you could even say hello. "Okay, I spent all day shopping and I finally found this super cute outfit for you to wear tomorrow." You took the shopping bags out of her hands and set them down on the couch. "You really didn't need to do that." Not being much of a shopper, you usually just wore whatever you could find in your closet. "Yes I did. It's your birthday and you need to be the hottest one there, especially to impress some of the fellas that will be attending." You rolled your eyes. "I don't dress to impress." She paused and stared at you. "Tomorrow you do." Knowing that her mind won't be changed, you pulled out a beautiful floral dress with an open back. "It is quite pretty I will admit." Pretty was an understatement, it was gorgeous. "Wait till you see the shoes I bought." She then showed you a pair of silver sandals with small heels that matched your dress perfectly. "Thank you Kaya, hopefully Thomas will like my outfit." It came out of your mouth before you could stop it, you definitely weren't expecting that. Kaya spun around instantly with a shocked expression on her face. "What did you just say?!" She took a step closer and you took a step back. "I said thank you." You knew it was too late to cover what you said but it was worth a shot. "No no no, you want to impress Thomas?!" Her shocked expression turned into a smile. "I don't know why I said that." You covered your face in embarrassment. "Yes you do, you like him!" Kaya pulled out her phone. "W-what are you doing?" You asked concernedly "Texting Dylan, he owes me money." Wait she was betting on Thomas and I? Never mind that's a problem to deal with later. "Don't tell anyone other than Dylan that I said that." She nodded. "My lips are sealed." She spoke with a smile, that kind of creeped you out.
It only took about 5 seconds and a yawn to realize it was your birthday. You got up, made yourself some breakfast and looked at your phone. Every couple minutes you would get a "happy birthday" message from someone. "I will respond to them later." You thought to yourself. A little while later you decided to start getting ready for people to come over. Putting on the dress and shoes you looked in the mirror. After a few minutes you decided to curl your hair. Finishing it off with a bow there was a knock at the door. You opened it to see a huge group of people come flooding in, Kaya being the last one. "There's the birthday girl!" She smiled. "I thought I told you I wanted a small party." You looked around to see a bunch of people already dancing, luckily you knew most of them. "Oops." The two of you laughed and she came in. Over about 2o minutes a few more smaller groups came, some including Ki Hong, Will, and Dylan. When Dylan came in he gave you a hug and a suspicious wink. About 5 minutes later Thomas showed up. "Hey!" You smiled and Thomas looked almost, stunned. "Uh, hi y/n! Sorry I'm late, the guy at the store wasn't letting me buy drinks." You giggled. "Really?" He shook his head. "No, I just didn't know what to wear. You look amazing." Blushing, you hid your face as he came in. "Thank you, so do you." There was a small pause between the two of you, as you stared at each other, but it ended quickly in an awkward way. The night continued on and it was lots of fun, but eventually the noise became a lot to handle so you decided to chill out in your room for a while. When you opened the door you saw Thomas sitting on the edge of your bed. He immediately stood up and it looked like something was on his mind. "Oh, Im sorry y/n, I just wanted to get away from the noise for a little while, I will go." He started walking towards the door but you stopped him. "No, stay, I wanted to do the same thing." Both you and Thomas sat down on the bed. "I really appreciate you coming." You rested your head on his shoulder. "I wouldn't miss it for the world." You smiled and grabbed Thomas' hand. He was definitely the sweetest guy you knew. "I also got you a gift." You lifted your head and looked at him. He pulled out a small wrapped box. When you opened it there was a silver necklace with your name on it. "Thomas this is gorgeous, but you really didn't have to get me anything." He helped you put it on and you could feel his cold hands on the back of your neck, sending shivers down your spine. "I know, but I wanted to." You turned around and stared at it. "Thomas I can't accept this." It must've cost a fortune. "You have to, its a birthday present." You looked back down at the necklace but Thomas put his finger under your chin. You looked up to see him leaning in to kiss you. As his lips pressed against yours, your stomachs filled with a million fluttering butterflies. The kiss lasted until the two of you finally ran out of breath. "Happy birthday love." He smiled, still keeping his face inches from yours. "I hate to ruin this lovely moment, but Dylan and Kaya are betting money on us." You giggled. Thomas let out a sigh and a look like he just realized something. "What?" You smiled. "So that's why Dylan got all upset yesterday and wouldn't tell me why." Both you and Thomas laughed. "We should probably go back out there before they start placing even more bets, if you know what I mean." You stood up and headed towards the door. "Yeah, some friends we have."
