Percy Jackson: Hero at Camp, Loser at School

Percy's POV

I grabbed my bag and put it in the trunk of my blue car and hopped in the driver's seat and went to pick up my amazing girlfriend.

This weekend Annabeth and I were going to see all our friends at camp. That's right, all of the seven besides Annabeth and I got to stay at camp and we had to back to school since we had missed so much of it and had so many traumatic experiences. As Chiron put it 'We needed to forget our world for a little bit'. The problem with that is, the more I go to school, the more I wonder how camp is doing.

"No Percy from another world!" Percy said, "The problemm is all the tests!"

Anyway I pulled up to Annabeth's apartment building and honked the horn. seconds later she rushed out looking amazing. She had an orange tank top with an owl on it and Bermuda jean shorts on.

"She would look gorgeos wearing that!" Percy said drooling.

She opened the trunk of the car and threw her bag into the car and closed the back. Annabeth opened the front seat door and sat down.

"Hey Wisegirl. Ready to go to camp?" I asked pecking her on the lips happily.

"Heck yeah! I'm ready to get out of the mortal world. Even if it only is for a weekend." she said her smile fading at the last part.

"Just for a weekend?!? That's nonsemce!" Percy protested.

"Agreed. Let's get going so we can make it there by noon."

I pull out of the building's parking lot and turn on to the main road. Annabeth starts fiddling with the radio. After 20 song choices she finally decides on the station that's playing the song Human by Christina Perri. I have to admit it's a good song no matter how unrelatable it to us it is.

Percy nodded his approval, "At least this Percy has good taste."

By noon we arrive at camp and are greeted by the seven and the rest of our friends. one familiar face in the crowd stands out. I haven't seen her since my forth quest: Calypso. Leo has his arm around her and is smiling. When in Hades did that happen?

"WHAT THE HADES?!?" Percy screamed, "How is this possible?".

"Hey guys!" Annabeth yells out to the crowd.

Everyone starts talking at once to us. We get handed at least 50 pieces of paper. I may have forgot to mention Annabeth and I are the leaders of camp. we're like Chiron's right hand men when we're there.

"Everyone shut up!" I yell to everyone as I'm getting a headache.

"Well, Percy from another world... That was blunt..." Percy said.

"How do you know what 'blunt' means Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth asked. Percy shrugged.

Everyone instantly calms down. "Okay so did anything fatal happen while we're gone. Please raise hands." I say rubbing my temples.

Nobody raises their hands thankfully.

"That's very good," Percy said nodding his head.

Annabeth claps her hands "Did anything extremely important happen when we were gone?" Leo raises his hand.

I nod to him.

"I brought sunshine here back! And I got a girlfriend!" he exclaims. Everybody laughs.

"Good for you loner..." Percy said smiling.

"Percy!" Leo said slapping his shoulder.

"Anything else?" I ask grinning and putting my arm on Annabeth's shoulders. We were now inside camp.

No replies.

We sigh happily and walk to the big house to see Chiron. We enter the Big House and see Chiron shuffling paperwork at his desk. "Hey Chiron we're back!" Annabeth exclaims.

"Well Captain Obvious...." Percy said.

"Annabeth! Percy! I'm glad you got here safely. I'm sure you heard about Calypso?" he aks.

"Yeah we heard." Annabeth replies.

"Leo's really talkitive..." Percy said.

"We're going to go get unpacked see ya Chiron!" I say to him leading Annabeth out of the Big House. In the middle of the camp we part our seperate ways.

At the door to the Poseidon cabin I sigh. "Camp sweet Camp." I murmmer "The only place I can be myself."

"Well, emotional Percy..." Percy said.

Right as I go inside I hear a high-pitched scream. I throw down my bag and rush to the border grabbing Riptide. I see three people running from an old friend. The minotaur. I run past the boarder and slice the bull-man in half not even breaking a sweat. I can feel the three kids' mouths drop. I turn arounnd to ee three faces I had dreaded seeing here. Kiki, Sarah and James. Apparently I was wrong about one of them not being a halfpblood. All three were. Joy.

"How do I know them?" Percy asked.

"I don't know..." Annabeth answered.

I turn my back and march into camp, grabbing Annabeth's arm and walkibg to the Poseidon cabin. "I won't show them around. Can you or Leo or Chiron do it." I say scowling. Those 3 had turned a great weekend into a sucktastic one.

"Is sucktastic a word?" Percy asked.

"Why are YOU asking?" Jason said, "That's Annabeth's job!"

"True dat!" Leo said.

She kisses me on the lips. "Seaweed brain. it would be my honor." She says with an evil glint in her eye.

"KILL HIM!!!" Percy cheered.
