a/n: hey guys, i know i normally do my authors note at the end, but this time i wanted to give you a little context before you read the chapter.  i did research into anemia when i first started to write these last few chapters.  it's a common condition in pregnancy and when left untreated can become severe. some of the symptoms Jack has or will experience are realistic symptoms of more severe anemia. anyways, y'all probably didn't care to know all that, but it's a little bit of context for the chapter nonetheless. anyways i hope y'all enjoy this chapter, it took a long time and i worked really hard on it.

"What is it?  Is Jack alright?" Faith immediately asked.

"I don't know..." Grace admitted.  "Gibbs asked me to come to her room." She looked at the two sisters. "I'll let you know as soon as I know anything." She told them and left. When she got to Jack's room, she knocked lightly on the door.

"I'll be back soon," Gibbs told Jack, kissing her forehead and going out of the room.

"Gibbs, what's wrong? Is she okay?" Grace asked as he approached her.

"She's having some chest pain..." He said with worry evident in his tone. She gently put a hand on his back.

"Do you need me to get the doctor?"

"I was going to do that but I didn't want to leave her alone, can you stay with her?" Grace nodded.

"Of course." She pushed the door open lightly and pulled a chair up beside Jack's bed. She could see that Jack's face was stained with tears. "Hey Jack, how are you feeling? Are you okay?" Grace asked softly. She didn't say anything. It was obvious she was having a difficult time keeping her breathing under control. "Hey, look at me," she said gently, putting a hand on Jack's arm but she kept looking down. "Look at me, Jack." She repeated and Jack slowly looked up. "Take a deep breath," Grace said, slowly taking one herself and looking Jack in the eyes. After a couple of times Jack followed suit. "In...and out..." Grace said softly and Jack continued to follow her breathing pattern until she seemed to be a little more calm. "Now... why don't you tell me what happened?" Grace asked softly.

Faith and Ellie sat in silence for what seemed like a long time, though it was likely only a few minutes. Eventually Ellie stood up and started pacing, mumbling whispers to herself. After a while she seemed to be only upsetting herself so Faith intervened. "Hey, Agent Bishop, why don't you come sit?"

"Okay.." she sat in a chair across from Faith.

"Are you and Jack close?"

"You could say that..." Ellie responded quietly.  She didn't even notice that Faith didn't call Jack 'mom'.

"How long have you known her?"

"Four years...why?"

"Just making conversation." Faith smiled slightly.  Ellie didn't respond but instead looked down at the floor.  "Hey," Faith laid a hand on top of Ellie's and she looked up at her. "She's gonna be okay." She told her.

"How do you know that?"

"Because my mom is a strong woman.  She's endured worse than this and still made it through." Ellie nodded.  It felt weird to hear the words "my mom" knowing that she was her mom too.

"What is it like having Jack for a mom?" Ellie asked.  This was something she'd been dying to ask since she found out Jack had another daughter. Faith thought about it for a moment, she didn't know how to answer this question since she'd never actually had Jack as a mom.

"She's my biological mom, actually, but she didn't raise me." She finally said. Ellie swallowed hard. So it wasn't just her...

"How long have you known her?" She asked eventually.
