Chapter 15

He is standing at the end of the aisle. He is wearing a similar suit as Loki and Thor. They have dark fitted pants and black vests. Under the vest there is a silk shirt with golden embroidery of Asgard's coat of arms. Loki and Thor are of course wearing the symbols of the royal family. Bucky is wearing his medal of honor that was given to him when he was dubbed to be the Lord Knight of Asgard. On his waist he has a holster that hold the sword that Thor gave him that same day. I look at him and I think my heart skipped a beat. But apparently my reaction was nothing compared to his.

When he turned around to see me walk down the aisle, he was holding his head down at first. When he lifted his head and saw me, I could swear that he almost fell down. His face changed from nervous to loving amazement. With every step closer to him I could remember every moment together and I could feel that he was feeling them also. When we get to him, I can see that he is already almost crying. He steps forward to me and Loki. He shakes Loki's hand and to mine and Thor's surprise, they hug. I think that this is Loki's way to show that he is welcoming Bucky to the family. Loki hugs me and then steps away to sit on his seat. I take a hold of Bucky's arm and we step up to stand right in front of my brother Thor. We turn to face each other and then right before Thor starts to speak, Funí appears to the altar from a burst of fire. He is sitting right behind Thor. Our friends are at aww, because they haven't seen Funí in his new form, with the white feathering. By appearing to the ceremony, Funí is blessing our marriage with the presence of pure love.

While Thor speaks I look around and I can see our friends and family around us. There aren't that many guests but that is how we wanted it to be. Just us and the most important people in our lives. I can see Nanna playing in Pepper's lap, and Tony and Peter trying to keep her busy so that she wouldn't cry. I see Barton with his family and Pietro sitting right next to him. Bruce is there and so are our other Avenger friends. Shuri and T'Challa are sitting there smiling at us. Sif and the Warriors Three are there to support the royal family and their friend Bucky. There are so many friends that just short time ago I didn't even know that I would have in my life. I look at Bucky and see that during the time that I have spent looking at our guests, he has been looking at me smiling.

"Today is a day of joy, a day of love, and a day of celebration. Today we are going to witness these two lovebirds to be bound by marriage. I have had the privilege to witness Halla's and Bucky's love and I have seen its strength. I have been able to get to know both of them individually and together, and I have never seen a couple that would have been more perfectly made for each other. These two have shown their love to each other and to their family and friends. Even with disagreements their everyday is still filled with more love than anything else. Their love can already be seen in Nanna and how they give their everything for their family and for their love. As best friends and lovers, they have closeness that most of us can only hope to receive some day. In our culture and home in Asgard, there is an ancient concept of pure love. It is full of passion, intimacy, commitment, and equality. It is seen in these two as mutual respect, admiration, and care. This couple is the embodiment of romantic pure love that is said to be found only few times in century. All of us have been privileged to see this love grow and develop. And I feel more privileged to be able to welcome this love to our family. Now has come the time for these two to show their love and promises to each other, and you friends and family as witness to bind them to their promises. Halla, please.", Thor stops and signs me to continue.

Nat hands me a piece of paper that I wrote my vows down to. I wipe my tears away, take the paper and turn back to Bucky. I start to speak, "When I first met you, I was a mess. Soon enough I found out that we both were messes.", I laugh a little and so does Bucky and Steve. I then continued, "Maybe that was the thing that brought us together. It definitely wasn't the fact that on my first day at this compound I saw you in the showers naked.", I laugh again and Bucky smirks at me. I look at him and I just smile. "From early on, I knew that I could trust you. Everything that we have been through separately and together has made us stronger. Every day that I get to spend with you and that little angel of our, makes every struggle worth it. I promise to love you unconditionally, to respect you, and take care of you and our family with everything that I have. I give you my life, my present, my future, my love, and my everything, with no expectations or demands. I bound my destiny with yours and forever from this day to infinity, I am yours.", I promise to him. I am now crying, and he places his hand on my cheek and wipes away my tears. Steve steps forward and tries to give Bucky a piece of paper, but he says to him that he doesn't need it. He then starts to speak to me from his heart.

"You have been my rock, my strength, and my only love. I still don't believe that I have earned everything precious that you have brought to my live. Your love, affection, kindness, strength, and support have brought me so much. Happiness, shelter, relief, and feeling of belonging to somewhere. You took me into your life knowing my past. You gave me a purpose. You gave me love. You gave me a family. I owe it all to you forever. With you, I can sleep my nights knowing that in the morning I won't be alone. Your strength is the one thing that has kept us together. Your love is what brings us and our daughter hope. You are the one that brought us together and you are the one that secures our future. From the day that we met to this day, we have built our future. From now on we are going to work together to keep that future safe. With our love, we are creating our own little infinity. I promise to you that I will spend the rest of my life to honor you, to love you, and to protect you. I will always stand by your side, no matter what we are facing. I will give my mind, my body, my soul, my love, and my everything for you, for our family and for our infinity.", Bucky vows to me with tears in his eyes.

Thor has taken out a ceremonial cord that will be tied around our hands. Early on we decided that because of Bucky's metal arm, we would carry our rings on our right hands. We knew that it isn't traditional, but neither are us. Bucky takes my engagement ring from my left hand and slips it on my right ring finger. I place my right palm on his right palm. At that moment we both notice our bracelets. I am wearing the one that Shuri gave me, and Bucky is wearing this thick embroidered black leather band that has eight different coloured orbs embedded into it. I look at him and we both quickly glance at Shuri. She is smirking at us from the joy because she can see the smiles on our faces.

We turn to face each other. Steve gave Bucky a ring and Nat gave me the other one. I turn our hands so that Bucky's is now on the top and slide the ring on his finger. He then turns my hand on the top and slides the other ring right next to my engagement ring. Thor then binds our hands gently with the cord. And starts to speak, "With this cord, we bind you to your promises. The rings that you have given to each other, will be the mark of your eternal love and reminders of your promises.". Funí flies up and gently lands on our hands. He then lets out a soft and short little song. Before bursting some fires out and igniting the cord. He flies up and we both follow him with our eyes. The cord is on flames, but it is not burning either one of us. Everyone is staring at the fire and some of them got a little worried. With my hand that is on Bucky's hand, I create light. It surrounds the flames and turns the cord into two orbs of light. They hover in front of us for a while and the slowly and gently one of them floats through my chest into me and the other one does the same for Bucky. I can feel the warmth and so does Bucky. We look at each other, and we are both smiling.

"With the great pleasure, I present to you Halla and James Barnes, the Princess and the Lord Knight of Asgard.", Thor announces and turns to Bucky, "Alright you, give your wife a kiss.", he teases him. Bucky looks at me and pulls me into a long, loving, and passionate kiss, while everyone around us has stood up and are now cheering for us. Fandral then shouts, "All hail the couple!". And everyone starts to chant. I look at Bucky and I have never felt so much love. I kiss him again and then he secures me into a tight hug.
