In the beginning, a very long time ago, the world and everything within it was in a state of ambivalence. There was neither life nor death, and the very concepts of creation or destruction were yet to be established. This ebbing and flowing world waited for over a hundred million years to cool down and take form.

What is now known as the Living World was but a certain pit of the primordial realm—making it the smallest of the various worlds within the cosmos. However, despite its small size compared to the Realm of Spirits or Galactic Domain, the living world remains integral in the overall balance of the primordial realm. If it were ever to cease to exist, the three realms would regress into a particular undefined state known as Chaos.

The Power Maturity of a certain individual mirrored the state this chaotic world was in. It is the closest picture we have of what this chaotic world once was. Renji Tachibana's Power Maturity, "Irene's Dream," is a dimensional mending ability that the Gods have also dubbed "Hell's Paradise."

Dimensional mending, also known as reality warping, is a rare form of power maturity, with only four people in existence ever awakening it.

Renji Tachibana's "Hell's Paradise."

Michael Saint's "Celestial Utopia."

Jack Wolfe's "Winter Solstice."

Irene Wolfe's "Solaris Divination."

It's possible for more individuals to awaken dimensional mending abilities in the future. Still, Renji Tachibana is the only person who possesses a Power Maturity that mirrors the original world—even going as far as to demonstrate the ability to trap himself and his opponent in a constant state of life and death.

Naturally, the Gods grew interested in Renji, Parvati in particular. She often wondered how Ren obtained such a powerful ability and why one of her vessels shared properties similar to their superior, Vivianne?

"It was certainly Homura's doing." Parvati concluded as she dragged Ren deeper into the spiritual realm.

Ren had no idea what Parvati was talking about. Just being around her filled his mind with certainty and ambiguity. Ren felt his presence melding as if his individuality was eroding and merging with his chosen god.

"All this time Homura has wanted to revive our people. Shiva and I of course understood that and sympathized with her. As a living god it was expected of Homura to avenge her people after being wrongfully culled. While, the act of revival is taboo, the abstract notion of restoring a genocided clan is unnatural."

Ren slightly frowned. He couldn't imagine how it felt to watch an entire group of people die. Even though he witnessed parts of the Fujiwara Genocide from fragments of Ikumi's memories, those were only fragments. Homura saw the entire thing. She had to live through the first genocide and stand on the sidelines as they were culled again.

I can't imagine how frustrated she must be.

Ren briefly thought about his situation and how Michael drove him to kill just by threatening his family.

Ren knew his family wasn't very big. All it consisted of was his mother, Erica, his sisters, his wife-to-be, Suzume, his children, and Maija. At the time, the only people in danger were Suzume, Natsumi, and Anji.

My family compared to the entire population of Fujiwara over three centuries. Not only can I not imagine how Homura feels, but I can't even begin to comprehend how Homura's heart must've changed from then till now.
