Deion didn't know why Alister began to seclude himself again. He didn't understand why Alister suddenly got silent, or why the laughter died out of him. He didn't like the way the boy's face scowled and the corners of his mouth no longer curved into a smile. He didn't like it at all.

"We're almost there, but I have to warn you this place is a little weird considering we don't really know each other-"

"YES, we don't know each other. So why don't you just turn your car around, drop me off at home, and go about your life as usual," Alister snaps and Deion turns to look at him.

"Okay, look I know we don't know each other, but we've had a pretty good time so far," Deion says as he glances back and forth between his passenger and the road.

"You've had a good time, I've been waiting to get back home since we left. I never wanted to be here in the first place, you demanded it, remember? I was completely fine living my life like I usually do-"

"Obviously you weren't if you called the fucking hotline," Deion mutters underneath his breath and Alister sends him a seething glare.

"Pull over," Alister hisses and Deion looks at him like he's crazy.

"What?" Deion questions irritatedly.

"PULL OVER!" Alister shouts and jerks the wheel to the left.

Deion swears as Alister gets out of the car, slamming his door behind him. Deion unbuckles his seat belt and follows him out of the car. He walks around the car to Alister's side and spots him standing underneath a street lamp.

Alister's hands are tangled in his hair, he's tugging at his head. As if he's trying to rip the venomous thoughts straight from his head. His eyes are closed in pain, the lines underneath his eyes showing. Alister opens his eyes once Deion stands directly in front of him. Alister's eyes are a swirl of exhaustion, anger, and anguish. His lips set into a firm line.

"Just take me home," Alister whispers and Deion shakes his head.

"Why not?" Alister shouts and grabs the front of Deion's jacket, unintentionally tugging him closer.

"Because you're having another episode, and if I leave you alone long enough you might decide to jump," Deion replies and Alister laughs emotionlessly.

"I'm not going to fucking kill myself, Deion! I just want to go home!" Alister shouts, pulling at the edges of his jacket again.

"I'm not leaving you alone," Deion replies, his lips set into a firm line. And Alister believes him.

"Then... then take me somewhere we can both go," Alister groans and Deion nods.

"Alright, where to?" Deion asks without hesitation.
