CHAPTER 36: We Miss Her

Third Person

It's been a painful three months since Lalisa went back to heaven. A lot of things have changed since she left, especially in Jennie's life.

Losing Lalisa is like losing herself and thinking that she doesn't have any purpose to live anymore.

Roseanne turned into a human because she only used her one and only wish. Ryujin continues guarding the chapel that will be found on the hill. Ryujin had a chance to talk to Yeji. They made up and became friends.

It's painful for Ryujin to see her lover loving someone truly, but she doesn't have a choice but to accept it. She never told Yeji that she was the one who saved her best friend and now her lover. She doesn't want Yeji to feel guilty and indebted to her.

After a week of being a human, Roseanne manages to adjust to the human world with the help of Jisoo, who is now her girlfriend. They live together at a condominium next to Jennie's.

They have been looking and taking care of Jennie and Ella because they know how much Lalisa means to them.

Jisoo told Seulgi and Irene about Lalisa. At first, Seulgi was surprised when she learned that Lalisa was an angel, and she was sad when she heard Lalisa had gone back to where she belonged.

Jennie never left her room, and no one had seen her since she locked herself inside. Every day, her friends knocked on her door, bringing her food to eat, but she never ate it.

Irene and Jisoo are slowly losing their patience because of what Jennie is doing to herself. They know that she is so sad about what happened, but they still advise her to take care of her body.

Today, they thought to confront her and make her eat and leave her room.

We went to Jennie's condo and Ella is the only one who welcomed us. Mr. and Mrs. Kim had already gone to their work and asked us to look for their daughter for awhile till they went home.

 
"Let's go to her room. I'm done waiting for her." I said with annoyance in my voice.

 
Seulgi, Irene unnie, Roseanne, and Ryujin are with me. I knocked on Jennie's door three times and no one opened it.

 
"Jendukie, open the door." I demanded. I know she can clearly hear me, but she is acting as if she does not.

"If you are not going to open the door, we don't have a choice but to break it." Seulgi said as she brought out something from her bag.

"Where did that hammer come from?" Irene, you asked.

"I bought it from the hardware just in case we needed to break into her room." Seulgi answered and she made me step aside.

 
Seulgi smashed the hammer on the doorknob a couple of times.

 
"What are you doing, Seulgi unnie?!" Ella exclaimed.

"We are planning to break inside." Seulgi answered nonchalantly. Suddenly, Ella showed something in her hands, and it was keys.

"I have a spare key for every room here." Ella stated.

 
We snapped our heads at Seulgi and she was embarrassingly scratching her nape. She hid her hammer behind her.

 
Ella shook her head in disbelief and opened the door since it was already broken because of dumb Seulgi.

 
We went inside Jennie's room to see her figure laying in the bed. I quietly walked towards her bed to see her sleeping.

 
There is a tears stain on her cheeks and she has lost a lot of weight. Her chubby cheeks are no longer chubby.
