The beach.

I stare along the dark water, my legs dangling above it from the dock I'm sitting on. The only light it seemed to have was the reflection of the moonlight, but that didn't even matter when the city was lit up that surrounded it.

It was at least midnight, so the sky was pitch black minus the moon and the faint stars that appeared overhead.

I bring the cigarette I had been smoking to my lips, hallowing my cheeks a bit as I inhale the smoke.

Peace.

I bring the cigarette away as I exhale the toxic smoke. I've been sitting out here for the past twenty minutes, and it's been the most peaceful thing I've gotten to do in a long time.

We leave tomorrow, for Florida. And since I have to be trapped in a tour bus with five idiots, I really need to be by myself for tonight.

My blue flannel was blowing off my body due to the wind, it wasn't cold, however. Even if it was, the thin fabric wouldn't have helped anyway.

I look over to the right side of me, my eyes meeting with a bridge that you would have to drive over to get to the other side.

Our hotel was walking distance from the beach, you really only had to cross the street to get over here. So, every night I've been coming over here.

I don't ever do anything, I just sit and watch. The waves crash onto the wood pillars under me, the peaceful sound of the water viciously crashing around me.

I'm pretty sure if I jumped in right now, I would get dragged under.

I flick my cigarette, making the grey ash fall onto the wood next to me. It was a peaceful night, alongside my chaotic mind.

I think we all deserve a little chaos.

I bring the cigarette to my lips once more, sucking on the filter as much as I could before the burning cancerous stick got too small for me to grip any longer.

I drop the small cigarette butt into the water below me, blowing out the smoke that corroded my mouth before grabbing my cigarette box again from the side of me.

I flip the box open, seeing the fact I only had one cigarette left. "Of course," I mutter under my breath.

I take the last cigarette out, placing it between my lips as I reach into my pocket and grab the red lighter.
