Coffee-hued leaves twirled through the roaring wind as tears kept on falling from marinette's eyes. She had lost so many people. Her dad, her mom, her brother who was now living with their aunt May, her crush, her sisterly figure and so many others. Losing people really tired Mari out but right now all she wanted to do was sleep and pretend that it was all a horrible nightmare.

Of course life didn't work that way.

And apparently the weather really hated her.

The second she lied down on the hard wooden bench, a drop of water fell onto her smooth blueberry hair. Rain. Did the gods have something against her? (She doesn't know about the miniature gods that she'll be taking care of yet.) The bluenette begrudgingly got up and ran to the nearest shelter. Then she took out her phone and called her brother.

Peter Parker was staring out the window like any normal 15 year old would after a week of mourning for their dead parents. Aunt May had been very kind and hospitable during those tough times even though she was devasted too. The whole death scenario reminded her of when her husband ben died and she couldn't relive those times. (This is my au just roll with it.) She kept insisting on him being comfortable no matter the price, and even though he told her not to bother, she claimed that it was the least she could do after Peter's parents helped her through life.

Ring! Ring!

Peter's phone buzzed loudly from his denim jeans pocket. He quickly turned it on and saw that it was his sister. 'Mari!' He thought. He accepted the call and was now face to screen with Marinette Parker.

"Hey bro!" Marinetti chirped. She had a smile on her face but Peter could tell it was fake.

"Hey sis! Did you need anything?" He asked. Marinette had been living with another relative of theirs for the past week but Peter was eager for her to move in with him and aunt May. After a while of silence, she responded.

"Well... I don't think I should be here. Queens just reminds me too much of mom and dad. And I've wanted to travel the world for a while now, so I think that's what I'm going to do. I met a guy called tony stark and he's gonna pay for everything," the bluenette explained. Peter had tears in his eyes. His sister was gonna leave him. He'd already lost most of his family, now his sister too?

Marinette noticed the tear that began to form in his eyes and tried to make him happier, "but I'll still come over every Christmas and you can call me whenever you want. Plus I'll be sending postcards and souvenirs from so many places!"

Of course it didn't really help Peter, but he knew that Mari needed this. She had been affected the most by their parents' death.

Flashback

It was December 10th when Mari had a free day. Peter was still in school at that time so he couldn't have come with them to the ice cream shop. It was a great day to get ice cream since they had a 20% off sale on everything! But a perfect day was something that never happened to the Parker family.

Which is why it didn't happen that day.

Gun shots. Black masks. Shouting. Windows breaking. Two more gunshots. The heads of both her parents rolling towards her. Marinette was so scared that day, it took her three days to process what had happened.

But now she was leaving the place that tormented her dreams and readied herself for some new and old acquaintances. A mix of past and future.
