Kozume was running late to class the next morning, he ran panting through the door just as the bell rang and slid into his seat behind you. At lunchtime he seemed to be in a bad mood, you walked up to the roof together as usual, but his eyebrows were knitted together in a small frown.
"Kozume? Is something wrong?" You questioned as you reached the door at the top of the stairs.
Kozume who seemed to have been deep in thought shook his head which also removed the frown from his face.
"It's nothing, I just forgot to pick up my game this morning when I left home. They have Volleyball practice in the mornings too and I was running late so I forgot it."
You tried to hide the giggle that was threatening to escape your lips. He was this upset at forgetting his Nintendo?
"And," he continued, a slight blush coating his cheeks, "call me Kenma, everyone else does."
"Oh," you said slightly taken aback, "Ok. You can call me Y/N too." Now it was your turn to turn a light shade of pink, you'd never been on first name terms with a boy before.
The two of you sat side by side again with your backs against the planter. You pulled out your book to read and Kenma pulled out his phone in place of his Nintendo and began playing a different game. He didn't seem as interested in this one though and after a while he glanced over at your book and asked you what it was about.
You told him the general outline of the story and he listened intently, you hadn't noticed before, but his eyes were a lovely golden colour, almost cat like. You blinked and looked away when you realised you'd been staring into them too long. He'd probably think you were weird if you looked at him too long. In what seemed like no time at all, the bell rang and you returned to the classroom.
Later after the last bell rang for the day Kuroo was once again waiting for Kenma outside the classroom for Volleyball practice. Intent on avoiding the same situation as yesterday, you packed up quickly and followed the last student, a girl with short brown hair and freckles, out of the classroom door before Kuroo had a chance to lounge in the doorframe again.
Kenma wasn't in any rush to leave the classroom, but you wanted to say goodbye before heading home so you waited in the hall across from Kuroo clutching your bag to your chest. Your heart rate increased as he looked down at you with a lopsided grin that would make any girl swoon.
"What's up L/N?" He said as the two of you waited for Kenma. The girl with the freckles heard him speak and glanced behind her to see him smiling down at you before continuing down the corridor.
"Nothing." You replied with a horse sound, before clearing your throat to try and make your voice clearer. "Just waiting for Kenma so I can say goodbye."
Kuroo stood up from his slouched position against the wall as Kenma finally left the classroom.
"Oh, so you're on a first name basis now?" He looked at Kenma with a smirk, "that was fast." He teased earning him another punch to the ribs from Kenma.
You blushed and tried to ignore Kuroo, "I'll see you tomorrow Kenma, don't forget your Nintendo this time, Ok?" You gave him a small smile then hurried off to the lockers, this time not turning round to see the two interact.

Wednesday morning it was raining heavy, by lunch it was still pouring down so you couldn't have lunch on the roof. You were about to turn around and push your desk up to Kenma's, but before you could, the brunette from yesterday came over.
"L/N right? Come sit with us." She indicated a stoic looking girl with long black hair sat a couple of desks over who was lazily examining her black nail polish.
