When Lavender woke up she was extremely disgusted with herself. She tended to neglect her hygiene and health when nobody was around to remind her.

She was disappointed with herself, so much so as she was showering the remembrance of the night before off, she was subconsciously pinching her soft skin as a tic.

Lavender brushed her teeth extra good before pulling a soft creme sweater on. She decided on a pair of jeans, but when she tried them on, they felt a lot looser than before. Instantly she turned to the mirror, she did appear a bit thinner.

She prepared her breakfast of oatmeal and a banana and toast. Lavender smiled proud of herself for eating it all. Calling her mother as she walked to her first class.

"Mama! I miss you so so much! Why haven't you answered my messages?" Lavender asked timidly into the phone.

Lavender's mom laughed, "You are talking so fast, but you're at college now. You need to be more dependent. I really want to know if you got the job at the cafe?"

Lavender's heart broke a little. She gulped before she bit back a whimper. "Yes, I- Um. I did!" She lied through her pretty teeth.

"I'm so proud of you, come here and talk to Lavender." Her mother told her father, she assumed.

"How was your first day?" Her father's deep voice asked, sounding a little different. Lavender gripped her phone, she missed them so much.

"I love you and I miss you so much." Her voice cracked a bit.

"I love you too." He responded instantly.

Lavender came into view of the other students. She bid her mama and father goodbye and tucked her phone into her pocket. If she knew one thing, it was that she needed a job soon.

Walking into the warm building she was extremely excited for the new day. She hoped to make at least one friend today. Hopefully, Lavender crossed her fingers.

After her maths class she headed to historical art. As she was walking, she found herself wondering if she could make a friend.

Lavender made sure to walk extra quickly and skip lunch, she did not want to be late.

Her fragile hand opened the heavy metal door. At first it was dark, the motion sensor lights were activated soon after. Lavender was glad, she was indeed scared of the dark. Childish, she thought.

Her eyes searched the empty room. Nobody was here yet, not even Professor Vincent.

Sitting down in the same seat from yesterday, she took everything out of her bag. Her arms were cold even through the many layers she was wearing. Her anxiety was worsening by the second, was she too early? Would he be mad?

She scolded herself for caring so much about her professor's opinion, or anyone's in general.

The sound of footsteps drew her attention away from her anxiety picking. Her mouth fell open as she stared at Professor Vincent walking to his lecture desk. He must have not seen her, Lavender thought.

A hiccup bubbled through her throat and escaped her mouth. Lavenders hand shot out to cover her gaping mouth as Vincent turned towards the sound.

A rapid blush crept its way up the poor girl's neck, and rested it's home on her cheeks.

The Professor watched as the virtuous flower bloomed with color in front of him. The sound she had made, was incredibly innocent.

"Are you alright?" Professor Vincent asked carefully.
