The fucked up part of it all is that even though she can hear her own heart breaking, she's still willing to love the same one who broke it

7 YEARS BACK

Alora watched silently as the water for coffee boiled. It had been a week since her mum travelled, her birthday was in 5 days time and normally, she'd be hyped up and already planning a party. She hated parties, but her mum hated them too, so she threw them to irritate her.

Don had fucked her thrice now. She didn't scream anymore, she didn't cry anymore too, she'd just take it, but God did it hurt. The only thing she still did, was beg. She spent most of her day in her room, with the door locked. She only came out to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner and of course, to go to work.

And it also seemed like Don didn't have a job. She didn't understand. It was obvious that the guy was filthy rich and all. What she didn't get was how he got his money. He never left the house. He even forced her to "break up" with Jay, he didn't know they were never dating.

Honestly, Alora couldn't wait for school break to be over. At least, she knew she had enough money in her account to finish high school, she didn't even need her mother's help again. She had tackled about three jobs back when she was fifteen, but when she saw that the money was enough, she settled for just the surfboard shop, turns out, everyone wanted to try surfing these days.

The whistling of the kettle pulled her from her thoughts and she made the coffee. They had a coffeemaker, but she didn't really like to use it. She poured two cups of coffee, served two plates of toast, omelettes and bacon.

Quietly, she covered Don's meal and limped to her room with hers. She dropped her meal and then went to knock on Don's door.

"Y-your break-" the door opened, she staggered back. He scanned her head to toe. She had started covering herself more. Before all she wore at home were crop tops or tank tops and short shorts. But now she stuck to hoodies and sweatpants.

"You look horrible. Fix yourself up, we're going out today" he said and walked past her. She internally groaned, then followed him.

"Uh, D-don, I have work today"

"So? Call them"

"Uh, it's kinda like too late to do that" he turned to her right before he sat down and then glared at her, she gulped.

"Isn't your work partner your ex? Beg him to work alone"

"I won't get paid for today" he turned to face her, looking rather bored.

"I'll pay you, if that's what you want" he started his food.

"I don't want your money" She said timidly and he continued his food.

"Take it or leave it. Now, let me eat in peace. A dress will be delivered today, alongside shoes and jewelry and a make up artist too"
