Y/N POV

Half an hour had already passed and there was still no news of Abby; I had certainly seen her leave in a hurry with her cell phone in her hands and with that need to answer, but where was she?
Sam seemed to be of my opinion: she had that annoyed look and worried face at the same time, as if she knew already that from that call there would be negative repercussions, perhaps like the previous night.

Tired of my thoughts since practically everyone had already left after created the whatsapp group of the two teams, I decided to approach Sam, one of the few remaining.

"Hey. All right? I see your worried face... "
"After that your best friend disappears for more than thirty minutes without saying a word, it seems normal to me ..."
"Well, you are not completely wrong...it reminds me last night..."
"Exactly, only that this time I am 100% sure that I will not rest and I will not hear the sound of silence that I so much hoped to hear..." she said with a sigh. Soon after she said that word, Jamie made his appearance singing "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel, just to make fun of her.

"NOT THAT SOUND OF SILENCE..." she said rolling her eyes even if slightly amused.
Trying to stave off the laughter that would have soon escaped my mouth from that epic scene, I raised an eyebrow trying to get back to the conversation I was having with Sam.

"Insomnia?"
"I wish..." she said softly only to be interrupted again by Jamie.

"Sam is very pensive, so much so that she believes in the silence therapy! Except that Abby is not of the same opinion, in fact as soon as Sam is about to fall asleep, she always interrupts her... isn't it that maybe you can keep her busy, Y/N, so you can give Sam some time to rest?" asked Jamie trying to convince me, getting a raised eyebrow from Sam and probably a nudge, which I didn't give much weight knowing their playful mood.

"Okay, I'll keep her busy for a little while then. Go and rest Sam, I don't know how long I'll be able to... "I said sincerely giving them my word as requested.

"I don't think you'll have any problems..." Jamie said giving me a wink while pushing Sam towards the US building, leaving me alone and with no time to answer.

Sighing, I decided to take 5 minutes to think about where Abby could have been: the Olympic village, although small compared to Japan, was quite large. The night before I had been lucky, but if I had moved from the building I would not have been sure to meet her and stop her in time; this could only mean one thing: I had to wait in front of the building since she would be back sooner or later.

Abby's POV

Sighing, I closed my cell phone permanently, walking towards the United States building, exactly where I had left my teammates, but also my carefreeness. It had been put on "hold" by that long phone call, which as usual turned out to be a cold shoulder in the chest, where Aaron didn't even try to listen to me at all, but focused only on his world.

"Hey!"

Without realizing it, I was brought back to the present by a familiar figure who had just risen from the bench and quickly approached me.

"Hi" I said flatly, albeit happy to see him again.
"All right?" He asked, tilting his head as if to investigate more about my mood, which inevitably made me think about what had just happened.

(Flashback)

"Hello Sweetheart" I said happy to finally hear him after a few days.
