The tiny whispers of the wind soothed the panicking woman as they massaged the insides of both her ears. Her voice became calm as she spoke to her husband on the phone. The day was long, and the moon was out, brightening her pathway with help from the streetlights. After one another, her feet took wide steps forward as she walked down the street.
"I told them that I had to end my relationship with the neighborhood watch. There is just too much in my life going on, and that was the last thing that I needed to worry about." Renee admitted to Samuel.
Through the speakers of her phone, her husband understood her decision and respected it. In his head, he had a feeling that his wife was stressing over having a baby, but he was very incorrect. Renee was stressed out over the fifteen-year-old mess with Brina, who now went by Aija.
There was so much left out of Renee and Samuel's marriage, and the secret about Aija was one of them. The one reason why Renee never told her husband about the fifteen-year-old secret was because he was the sheriff of town. She knew that his job came before his marriage, so she knew that Samuel wouldn't bat a lash to arrest Renee even if they were married.
"Is the schedule still the same...?" Renee questioned her husband on the phone as she was almost home.
Renee and Samuel had a schedule of when they had sex, probably due to her husband's busy work life. Still denying that it was probably all on her husband for her not having a child, Renee still thought it had something to do with her and him being stressed out over any and everything.
"Yeah, yeah...the schedule is the same as it always been." Samuel confirmed his sex appointment with his yawning wife.
While in the middle of their conversation with asking her husband how work was treating him, Renee becomes interrupted by one simple gesture. Not that far away from her, the woman waved with a smile. The wave and the smile were both so poetic, but Renee could easily tell that either was genuine. The woman had something up her sleeve, but Renee didn't know what it was. She had no clue what the woman was planning against her and the others' demise; she just knew that it wasn't going to be a scratch on the arm or a smack to the face. She was ready for revenge and the others had no clue what type of revenge that she was going for.
"S-Samuel," Renee stuttered on the phone with her husband, "I-I think we're going to have a new neighbor."
Not feeling that confident around the woman, Renee waved back, hoping that it came off as genuine.
"Who's the new neighbor, Renee?" Samuel asked his preoccupied wife as she walked towards her house slowly while her eyes stood out of their sockets while spying on her new neighbor.
Her anxiety went up higher than ever before. If she was struggling with having children, it would obviously continue with the woman moving in next door. Everything in Renee's life, minus the baby, was so perfect and so incomparable; but the new neighbor had to move beside her and ruin her happiness.
Renee still didn't respond to her husband, too busy eyeing the new neighbor and walking blindly towards her house.
The new neighbor definitely had a motive, a motive against the nervous five; and the five had a clue what it was, but they chose not to believe the truth. They chose not to accept the terrible thing that they did to Aija fifteen years ago.
