I woke up two hours later. I decided to quickly check my phone. My screen was filled with emails and YouTube notifications. But the one that stuck out the most was from my period tracker app.

I jumped out of bed, rushing to the toilet to check. Nothing. Double checking my app it said I was meant to start sometime over the last three days. I froze, instantly thinking the worst.
I grabbed my keys and left the apartment, heading straight for the local chemist. I scanned the isles and picked out a couple different brands of testers. Then I headed home. My feet sped towards the toilet and I opened the first pregnancy test. Then the second and the third. I followed all of the instructions and left the tests on the bench in the bathroom.
I set a timer for 5 minutes on my phone and went to couch, turning on the TV and biting my nails. The minutes ticked by as slow as ever. Every second that passed brought more anxiety. By the time the alarm went off, I was curled up on the couch rocking back and forth.
The sound caused me to stop, slowly turning my head to the bathroom door. I got up cautiously and began to take small steps towards the bathroom.
'I'm fine. I'm going to be ok.' Step by step. My breath became ragged and a nauseous feeling settled in my stomach. The door creaked as I slowly opened it, approaching the bench and closing my eyes. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes.
