Miranda steps out fixed her clothes and paced to the car. "Miranda, Miranda" she hears someone calling her name. She turns to see Tony jogging towards her from across the street. She runs towards him grabs him and shoved him into the nearest duck off. "What are you doing here. Are you stalking me?" She asked with her voice raised. "Calm down my pretty, I just saw you. Are you avoiding me. I thought we had something going on." Tony had a look of aggravation in his eyes as he spoke. Miranda attempted to walk away. Not without Tony taking her hand and demanding she talk to him. "Look I've been real busy, I will call you when I'm free" she snapped. Taking her hand back she walked off. Tony stood there in disappointment. When Miranda got back to the parking lot the limo was gone. She got in her car drove to the Restaurant Ms. Hatchmen was dropped off at to see Franklin already standing there waiting for her to come out. Miranda drove back into work. Sitting at her desk there is a silent knock at her door. In walks Ms. Hatchmen. "I brought you something" she said. Miranda accepted the lunch. After work she stopped at the grocery story to pick up a few things. Then the meat market. She always liked to admire the men in there serving. The next few days she avoided lunch with Ms. Hatchmen. Friday came and she was determined to go see if Franklin was singing. After work she went shopping for a new outfit. She went to the salon got her hair pressed and styled. She was on a mission. While getting ready she received a call. "Hello, beautiful its daddy." Miranda stopped in her tracks. "Daddy" she muttered. It had been too long since They last spoke. "Yes honey, how are you. I'm in town this weekend. Will I get to see my busy lady? Your mom tells me you don't have much time for folks these days." He replied. Miranda was stuck holding the phone. Her father was the only man that could have her speechless. She valued what he said. She was a true daddy's girl at heart. "Well dad, I am head of marketing at my company. I got a corner office with a view and everything." Miranda stuttered out. Her dad seem impressed telling her he was proud. They made plans for breakfast the next morning. Miranda sat on her bathroom floor for what seemed like an eternity after the call. Thinking of her childhood memories of her father. She was excited but it soon turned to devastation once she realized how long he had been gone. She picked herself off the floor. Removed her dress and slipped on her night gown. She wasn't going anywhere. She laid watching old tv shows until she was sleep. She woke up early the next morning beating her alarm clock. She ran as usual, came home showered then headed out for her meeting with her father. When she arrived he was already seated. She ran over. He stood up and they embraced in a long father daughter hug. She felt like a little girl again. Reminiscing of when he used to pick her up and swing her around. She didn't want to let go.
