"I'm not one to complain, but can't Appa fly any higher?"

"I have an idea! Why don't we all get in your back and you could fly us to the North Pole!?"

"I'd love to! Climb on everyone. Sokka's ready for take-off!"

"Shut up, both of you!" Y/n groaned tiredly at the two fighting boys. She was leaning back on the side of Appa's saddle, one arm hanging out of it while she used the other to lazily pet a purring Momo in her lap.

"Look, we're all just a little tired and cranky because we've been flying for two days straight." Katara tried to reason, lying on the middle of the saddle.

"And what for?" Sokka questioned, turning around to sit down properly, "We can't even find the Northern Water Tribe. There's nothing up here!" He claimed, gesturing to the vast, open ocean. No land nor people insight.

Katara had laid down her head in boredom, letting it rest on her hands. She looks up in wonder when a slushing sound could be heard not that far from them. Y/n's eyes widened as she felt a danger approach, and out of nowhere, the water in front of Appa suddenly rose and solidified to ice spikes. Aang let out a scream in fright, his eyes wide in horror, as he violently yanked the reins to this right in an attempt to avoid the sudden obstacle.

Growling loudly, Appa turned to avoid the ice spikes. Y/n held onto the saddle, pulling herself down while she held a protective grip on Momo, who clung to her robes. She glanced to the side, seeing the siblings were yelling in fright as they held on for dear life to the sides of the saddle themselves.

Meanwhile, the swerving Appa suddenly shot up as another ice spike manifested right in front of him. However, much to everyone's dismay, he was not quick enough, and part of the ice got ahold of his leg, freezing instantly. His momentum caused the ice to break, but he was thrown off balance and catapulted away with the group still in the saddle, Katara and Sokka loudly screaming in fright. Appa spiraled around in the air, unable to regain his balance, before he eventually crash-landed into the water, throwing it up high as a result.

Once he got the chance to turn upright again, the water around him instantly froze, and he was locked in place, unable to break free of the containment. Y/n took a quick glance over the side of Appa's saddle, her eyes shifting between the ice spikes in the water, from which Water Tribe boats appear slowly sailed out from behind, each carrying several Waterbenders, surrounding the team.

Y/n glared at them while Sokka went to pull his boomerang from his back. Katara's eyes widened in surprise, looking around at the boats from atop Appa's saddle, "They're waterbenders! We found the Water Tribe!" She cheered while Y/n kept a cautious eye on the strangers, as Appa was still frozen in the water, with six Water Tribe boats surrounding him.

Before they knew it, the group was being escorted to the Northern Water Tribe. The magnificent wall of the city came into view much to everyone's amazement. Y/n let out a sharp breath at the beautiful sight. Aang jumped up from his spot on Appa, pointing excitedly as he spun around himself, "There it is!"

Katara nodded in awe, the words barely getting past her lips, "The Northern Water Tribe."

Sokka stood up himself, smiling at the sight before them, "We're finally here." Y/n nodded, sitting on top of Appa's head. Momo peaked up from behind her, placing himself comfortably on her shoulder with his tail wrapped loosely around her neck to keep him in balance, "I guess we are..." She muttered, her hands loose around Appa's reins.
