Chapter 5
The next day at school, all the students were happy because today was the Friday before spring break! It was now lunch time and Esther met her friends at the tree.
"Hey Es," everyone said.
"Hi guys." She said taking a seat next to Emiliano and Emily.
"Tryna rock with us at the game tonight?" Elias asked Esther.
"Who's all going?" Esther asked, grabbing her lunch out of her bag.
"Me,Eli,Elias,Emiliano,Elliot, and Emma," Emily said.
"Oh sure. I guess I'll go." Esther said, shrugging.
"Oh, and Sophie." Emily added slyly, under her breath.
"Who?" Esther said, taking a bite of her sandwich.
"Sophie," Emily said looking away, causing Esther to be unable to hear her.
"Who?" Esther asked again.
"Sophie!" Emma shouted.
"Oh." Esther said.
"Do you still wanna go?" Emily asked her.
Esther shook her head "no" and sat there quietly. Her friends pleaded with her to come with them guaranteeing that the game would be fun. Finally she gave in.
"Sure. I guess." Esther said, shrugging. Everyone around her sighed out of relief.
"Well I'd be more than happy to join MY friends at the football game, alright?" Esther said laughing.
Then it was almost time for Esther's next class so she decided to part from the group first.
Emiliano walked her to Batmale Hall. "Emmy," Esther said to him.
"Yes, Ether?" He said
"Why does Ezra and Elliot not like each other?" Esther asked him.
"This is a question you need to ask them two, not me. Haha " Emiliano questioned her
"What's the big deal if you tell me? " Esther said nudging his shoulder.
"If Elliot wanted you to know he would've told you. I just thought, since its been-- never mind." Emiliano said.
"Emmy! Tell me!" Esther said, hitting his arm. Not that he probably felt it, since he was muscular.
"No really, if you really wanna know, ask him." Emiliano tells her.
Esther gives up. Then as they walk right in front of Batmale hall she sees Elliot and she remembers that they aren't supposed to be talking. But she wants to know about it too badly, she screams out his name.
"Elliot!" Esther called out to him.
He walks over to her and Emiliano.
"Yes?" He says.
"Why do you and Ezra not get along?" Elliot asks. He then gives a look to Emiliano, as if asking if he said anything to her.
Emiliano immediately recognized the look and shook his head no.
"Oh, you know. Boy drama." He says
Esther shakes her head,
"Bullshit."
"I swear, right Emiliano?" Elliot says .
Emiliano shakes his head agreeing.
"Fine. Either you tell me or neither of you talk to me." Esther declared.
