Chapter 7

Today the group of friends had planned to go skiing around noon.

It was only 7 am and Esther had awoken. As soon as she took her covers off, the cold air hit her bare skin. Esther got up, putting on some sweats and her Uggs because her feet were cold.

Everyone seemed to sleep well last night. Everyone slept in one cabin room.

She made her way down the stairs to the lobby to see Elliot sitting on the couch. Esther minded her business and went straight for breakfast.

She made herself a cup of hot chocolate with a plate of hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes.

After making her plate, she sat down at one of the tables, making sure she had a view of the TV to watch the news.

About five minutes later, a group of friends walked into the cabin lobby.

There were five of them, three boys and two girls. One noticed Esther sitting there, and smiled because he thought Esther was beautiful.

Then, the rest of Esther's friend and Sophia made their way down the stairs to go eat breakfast.

Samuel's POV

"Sam, bet you $100 bucks you can't get her number" Sebastian said to me.

We came up to Reno for spring break, and sadly I'm the fifth wheel.

"Alright, bet." I said back to him.

I noticed the girl sitting by herself when we walked in. She's gorgeous. She can't be here by herself.

I walk to the table she's seated at,

"Is this seat taken?" Samuel said, Esther shifting her eyes his way.

"No, go ahead." Esther said.

"Hi, I'm Samuel. I just couldn't stand there and stare. I have to know your name." Samuel said

"Smooth." Esther said sarcastically, lightly laughing.

"I'm Esther. How can I help you?" Esther said.

Behind her Emiliano started, giving Samuel a very ugly mug.

"Alright well, to be honest," Samuel started.

"Do you see my group of friends over there?" He said point towards them,

"Well, I happen to be the fifth wheel in this situation. And I was sorta wondering if you'd like, uhm. Would you like to hang with us?" Samuel asked

"Oh how sweet. However, I'm here with my group of friends." Esther said, turning around and pointing towards them.

"Maybe we'll bump into each other again." Esther said, writing her number on a napkin before giving it to him.

Samuel agreed with her before walking back to his friends.

"Pay up! You didn't get it " Sebastian said to Samuel as they laughed.

Elliot pulled a chair out at Esther's table.

"Who was that?" He said

Esther just looked at him and shrugged. Elliot then got up and moved to a different table.

Emiliano sat at the table with Esther, and didn't say one word to her.

Emily,Emma, Elias, and Eli sat together at a different table.

"Is everything alright, Emiliano?" Esther asked. Emiliano just shook his head and didn't even make eye contact with her.

Esther was the first to leave the group to go back to the cabin. Emiliano followed after her.
