-In the past-

Of course Puffy had to show up today. Dream grumbled as he stormed into Schlatt's office for their monthly checkups. Slamming the door behind him.

"Please don't ruin my door, I don't want to have to pay for a new one." Schlatt said, he seemed preoccupied. Dream ruled it out as paperwork as he stormed further into the room.

"I'll pay for it if it's broken." Dream huffed. "Anything new?"

"Nope." Schlatt bluntly replied.

An awkward silence filled the large room. Clicking his tongue, Dream surveyed the room. The noise bounced off of books, shelves, chairs and plants scattered around the room.

"Apparently you started a fight in the town square." Schlatt spoke up.

"U-huh." Dream ignored Schlatt spinning on his heel and heading for the door. "I'm leaving since there is nothing else you want to talk about."

"You damaged someone's property Dream. I'm gonna have to charge you for property damage."

"Sure, whatever." Spinning back around Dream dumped a sack of coins upon the table. "That should cover the cost. I'm leaving." Dream left slamming the door behind him. A small crack could be seen in the spruce door.

The interactions from there on out were awkward with Schlatt. He kept trying to bring it up and Dream kept shutting him down. Until Dream ran into the devil herself once again.

"Dream please hear me out!" Puffy begged.

"No, now FUCK OFF and ruin somebody else's life." Drem growled as he stormed through L'Manburg.

Dream felt her hand grab onto his arm, "No! Just hear me out! Please Duckling."

Images of that day flashed in front of him. The tears he spilt as she handed him over to a terrible man. The screams that haunt his sleep to this day of the life he lived after she left him, broke him. "What do you want to say Captain Puffy? That it was a good reason? That you hoped to find me again? Well guess what you put me there in the first place and I'll never forgive you for that! I'm done listening to you, now leave me the FUCK alone or else I'll show you what they taught me!!" Dramatically leading his hand to his blade, he heard Puffy's breath stutter.

"I hope you're not planning on destroying more property Dream?" Out of nowhere, Schlatt's voice appeared.

Scowling at the older's interference, Dream bluntly replied, "Nope."

"Good, now let's get this meeting over with." Schlatt groaned as he lead Dream away from the situation. "We're talking about this when we get there!" Schlatt whispered to Dream.

"Whatever."

As soon as the door shut behind them Schlatt went directly to interrogating him.

"What did Puffy do to cause you to hate her. And what's with that nickname, Duckling?"
