"What's going on here?" A familiar voice boomed.
"Oh shit." Both Dream and Tommy cursed.
Nightmare stood in all his glory, glaring down upon the mortals. Black cloak wrapped neatly around his muscular body. Pitch black hair with magenta tips was flipped over his left shoulder. A large bump protruded from underneath the cloak meant his greatsword was present.
XD gracefully floated beside him, shimmering amethyst cloak billowing behind them. A large X etched into their porcelain mask. Slowly their mask turned to Dream after scanning the rest of the crowd.
"Hello!" XD greeted Dream quietly.
"Hi XD." He sheepishly returned the gesture.
"Um, you know these two?" Tommy asked.
"Yes." Dream murmured as Nightmare's gaze landed on him.
After Nightmare's previous deal with Tommy left the kid traumatised. Dream was pissed that Nightmare went behind his back, but the two of them sorted it out after a month of bickering. XD had just watched, amused by their pettiness.
Talk of accepting Dream formally into their family began shortly after the end of their feud. Plans were made but went up in smoke after Wilbur began his drug van. Then he made it a country, made Dream the villain of the story once again. Dream was beginning to see a recurring theme with the Minecraft family.
"Who are you exactly?" Wilbur asked.
"I'm Nightmare, the God of War, you must be new here to not have heard of me?" Nightmare inspected the smaller male, the wither skull mask hiding his expression. "I heard you're having problems setting up government? Don't mind if lead a hand?"
"Why would you help them?" Confusion filled the air.
"Well, you're causing problems for me and I'd love it if you'd stop. Although I can see that won't be happening anytime soon." Nightmare paused. "Oh, I know how to sort this out! Let's make a deal? Just you and me? No one else? What do you say, boss man?"
"What kind of deal?" Intrigued Wilbur walked closer to the god.
"Just you and me, no soldiers, no walls, just two brothers settling a dispute without endangering our families." Nightmare stood tall, intimidating everyone in his vicinity (except for Dream, he rolled his eyes). "If I win all who associate with L'Manburg will leave the sever forever."
"And what if I win?" Wilbur asked, ignoring the earlier statement that the rest of the SMP was stuck on.
"You will have my aid in the war against the tyrant." Nightmare grounded out. "So do we have a deal?" His tone switching back just as fast.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Dream intercepted. 'What are you doing?' The two spoke through head gestures.
"Winning a war that you mortals can't seem to sort out peacefully!" Nightmare replied out loud. 'Helping.' A curious tilt from Dream's head lead to another question. 'You did this last time and Tommy is still traumatised by you. And he's the brothers of the Blood God!' 'I just want to help speed things up so you can come home instead of focusing all of your time on this pointless war.' 'I know.' Was Dream's reply finishing their mental conversation. To everybody else, it was an intense stare-off. 'I'll play along, but I'm seriously upset with you, AGAIN!'
"How about I spice this deal up then?" Dream spoke up. "Since I'm the tyrant in this, I'll be representing everyone of L'Manburg in this duel. If I lose everyone will leave the server and be permanently banned, including me. And if I win." A dramatic pause. "You will leave us, mortals, alone and allow us to sort ourselves out. No more check-ins, no more deals. And L'Manburg will get its independence? So do we have a deal?" Dream stuck out his hand, awaiting Nightmare's reply. 'You little shit!' Nightmare glared at Dream. 'All is fair in war brother.'
