Curling in on himself, Dream could feel his gills shrivel in the extreme heat. Why did he agree to this being built? NO one could survive in this temperature, let alone an axolotl hybrid. Shivering Dream tucked his knees in closer as he sat inside the toilet.
Quiet sniffles escaped him as he feared his end. His trusty gear had run out of clean water two days ago and now Dream was feeling the effect of unchanged water. His gear lay tucked underneath the pile of books inside of the chest never to be used again. It had only been a day and Dream was suffering. His gills were in poor shape as well as his natural body colour. The potatoes were only making him sicker, he was a piscivore, not an omnivore. Scowling at the vile vegetable, Dream tossed it into the lava and watched it shrivel and die. Just like him he subconsciously thought.
Sam was doing his daily rounds of the prison until he arrived at the CCTV room. He took note of the isolation cell, Dream hadn't moved from that spot for a whole day now. Even though he'd been in the prison for two weeks and a month the male hadn't moved an inch, maybe to grab a potato, but then all he does is throw it into the lava. Sam didn't think anything was wrong until he took a closer look at Dream. Pale skin the colour of bone replaced Dream's usual skin tone. Giving up, Sam got up to leave the CCTV room.
Ten minutes passed and Dream still hadn't resurfaced, fearing the worst Sam bolted down to the cell. "Fucking hell! Stupid Dream! Stupid attention-seeking bastard!" Sam cursed as he speed-walked to the levers. Flipping them in sequence he stepped onto the platform, Sam moved over the lava lake. His armour clunking as he moved towards the toilet, reaching in he yanked Dream out.
"What the FUCK were you thinking! Drowning yourself doesn't fix anything!!" Sam snapped.
"What?" A hoarse voice replied. "Sam? Why are you here?" Dream was far too light, Sam noted only to shrug it off. It wasn't his concern, Dream was a monster not a person. Sam was the warden he only had to ensure Dream didn't leave, nothing else.
"I came to stop you from drowning yourself dipshit!" Sam grounded out as he continued to hold Dream up.
"Could you put me back into the water please!" Dream wheezed, his hands grappling onto Sams, clawing at Sam's netherite skin. Blunt nails scratch against the netherite armour, like a stray cat attacking anyone who came close.
"Nope! I'm not letting you drown yourself." Sam denied the request.
"NO! Please, I need to breathe! I'm going to suffocate without it!" Dream begged. Sam still didn't release him until Dream began to dry wheeze, his chest moving in and out unevenly. Sam still didn't believe him.
