Drip. Drip. Drip. Water droplets fell somewhere in the darkness of the run down building he stood in. Drip. Drip. Sizzle. Ranboo glances down to his sizzling arm, a singular drop of liquid slides down it into the nothingness below, above, to the sides.Direction has no meaning here. Directions were for the waking world, the one he shared with others. He knew he was asleep, a temporary escape from his new and every changing existences, away from people that weren't like him.
He didn't know what made him different but he felt separate, divided, like he could never connect with anyone. They would never knew him for what he was, what he had done. A monster, ever floating in the black abyss, circling.
Drip. Drip. Crunch. Drip. He turns toward the crunch finding someone else in his place of rest. They were looking at him with hallow eyes.
"You're not suppose to be here." He says watching the thing tilt it's near featureless face. "This is my escape." He was confident here.
The creatures tilts the other way and suddenly he's in his bed, he was awake. He attempts to sit up but he couldn't move. Long dark fingers wrap around the end of his bed, each the length of his foot. The creature from his dream head slowly inches up to look at him.
He wanted to scream and shout, anything to get help but the best he could do was whimper.
The thing slowly oh so sickeningly slowly stood, joints popping, bones creaking, six, seven, eight, nine feet tall. It leaned over him completely coming face to featureless face. The jaw dropped and it screamed. Ranboo found his voice and screamed too.
He blinked and the beast was gone everything else the same. He silenced himself before sitting up and looking around the room. Tommy was looking at him from the other bed in the room.
"Can you not? It's three in the morning." He grumbles rolling away possibly to return to sleep. Ranboo couldn't sleep anymore unlike him so quietly he got out of bed.
He tiptoed soundlessly to the dresser in the room and plucked his phone from it's charge. He snuck out of the room into the empty but still dimly lit halls. The walls either side of the room were lined with doors, to the right of his room Techno and Wilbur's to the left Phil's.
He made his way to Phil's door and held up his hand to knock before pausing. He unfurled his fingers from the fist and looked them over. His hands didn't use to look so long. It had to be a trick of the light, right? Hands don't suddenly change over night.
He flexed and unflexed his fingers for a soild ten or so minutes before shaking his head and walking away from Phil's door. He got on the elevator, pushed the ground floor button, pressed himself against the wall and turned on some music. The relaxing sound filled his headphones, which he'd grabbed of the dresser with his phone.
Bobbing his head to the music he got off the elevator and left the hotel they were staying at. He was chasing peace of mind which would only come from fresh air.
--------
--------Ranboo had returned before five and was curled back up in his bed before anyone was the wiser. His phone was back on it's charger his headphones next to them. No one will ever know he left.
The hairs on the back of his neck stood up as the feeling of being watched crashed down on him. He lifted his head to find the sun burning with the intensity of noon through the window and the rest of the family in the room talking.
He must have falleb asleep and he was still tired. Ranboo's body ached and felt stretched like his skin was too small, he knew exactly what this was another growth spurt. Last growth spurt he went from five foot six to six foot in two months. He curls back in on himself not excited for the month of weird aches and pains ahead.
Phil was suddenly next to him when his eyes opened again, a comforting hand on his back as he was talking to someone else. Techno by the sound of the voice. He let himself return to sleep once his initial panic subsided.
