Updates are going to be around once a week, because as my second book, I want it to be good. Good chapters come with a price, I'll be rewriting more often and I'll be doing a lot of other things to make sure I give you guys good quality chapters through out this whole book. I'm thinking of rewriting Chapter 2, if I do, I'll tell you.
Btw, I'm going to be starting a Oneshots book soon, I swear. I just need to pile up ideas first. Anyways, enjoy!
November 19
1600 hours
"Time to get up Benjamin," Catherine said pleasantly, gently shaking my shoulder to get me to wake up.
I slowly yawned and opened my eyes. I sat there for a few seconds taking in the beauty of nature around me.
We stopped in a parking lot behind in front of a big hotel. The hotel was made of wood and covered in a light layer of snow. It was freezing outside, probably around -10 to -3, so not a lot of people were here during this time of the year.
The parking lot wasn't too big and not a lot of cars filled it. We were the only people outside right now. A forest of pine trees surrounded the property. There was no sound, not even a bird chirp, it was so peaceful.
Not a bad place, I thought.
Suddenly, my serene state was broken by someone yelling at me.
"Ben! Could you please stop sitting there, we need help with the supply's." Erica said, walking over from the trunk of the car and snapping her fingers in my face.
I mumbled a quick "sorry" and quick got off my butt, having Erica mad at you was something that I never wanted to experience again.
Mike and Trixie were lugging all the stuff we packed ourselves over their shoulders and were already waking towards the entrance of the hotel.
I was wondering what I was meant to carry when Erica pointed to two giant black bags still sitting in the trunk of the car.
When did we get those?
Seeing the confused look on my face, Erica sighed.
"We got them at the base, they were pre packed for us when we got there. You really need to pay more attention to your surroundings."
I just nodded and dutifully picked up one of the bags. They were heavy and the sudden weight threw me off balance, I nearly fell on my butt, but I caught myself just in time. Erica sighed again.
I tried defending myself, "Hey, it's not my fault. What did they put in here? 20 pounds of explosives?"
She rolled her eyes but I saw the corners of her mouth twitch as she tried to suppress a smile.
"Come on buttercup, and by the way, they could be filled with explosives." Then, she turned on her heel and started walking to the entrance.
I was slightly unnerved at the thought that I was holding something that could potentially explode and kill me, that had nearly happened to me too many times for me to count.
On the other hand, my heart was fluttering because the fact that Erica even called me something remotely cute was a sign that she liked me a lot. I mean I knew she did like me, but I didn't know how much.
I felt like my head was going to burst with the amount of thoughts swirling around in there.
So, I decided to shake my head to try and forget about them and follow Erica to the lobby.

The only word I could find to describe the inside of the hotel was grand.
