The last time I updated the book was on 28 November 2021... now it's 18 January 2022... oops.
No but seriously, I'm sorry, things have been pretty hectic for me these past few weeks, and on top of that I'm sort of, um, *in a small voice* losing interest in Spy School. BUT, I promised you guys (and gals) I would never abandon any of my books soooooooooooooo, here I am, about to write another chapter for all you people.
Please support me, I will still update, just probably once every week or two.

November 20
0200 hours
They took us back to our cells, but not before injecting Erica with some sort of clear liquid.
"Get comfortable," Mr. H said as we were all thrown into the same cell that me and Catherine occupied before, but this time with three extra people. "It's going to be a very long stay."
With one last laugh, he, Joshua, and the five guards that had brought us here slammed the steel door and took their leave.
There was a moment of silence, right before Mike broke it by kicking and punching the wall furiously, tears streaming down his face.
"I! Hate! Him!" He screamed with every punch he threw. "I hate them all!"
Trixie quickly jumped into action and wrapped Mike in a tight embrace. "I know Mikey, I know, we all hate them. And given time, they're going to pay for what they did to you and Ben."
But I didn't want to wait, I wanted them dead, at my feet, now. But I didn't show it, if I learned anything from all the time I've spend with Erica, it was to push down all emotions until the job was done. I've never agreed with that before, until now.
My face grew stony as I turned around to face the other women in the cell with me, "Catherine, Erica, do you two have anything that could-" My voice trailed off as I caught the look on Erica's face.
She looked devastated, eyes red and puffy, muttering unintelligible words under her breath, it was like someone took everything good in her world and threw it into a fire. Catherine knelt next to her daughter, trying her best to soothe Erica.
"What's wrong with her?" I asked, my voice a higher octave than it normally was, so much for no emotions.
"I don't know! I think it was the injection, she's not responding to anything I'm doing." Catherine cried. "I hate not knowing."
I knelt beside them as Mike and Trixie came over. Mike seemed to have momentarily forgotten about his anger in the face of a friend in peril. And weird as it seems, so have I.
"Hey Erica, hey." I slapped her lightly, like somebody trying to wake a drunk person. But Catherine was right, she was unresponsive.
Over the next hour, we tried everything we could to snap her out of it. From yelling loudly in her ear, to peeling her eye lids back. Nothing worked, and the worst part was that every minute or so, she increased her crying and the sounds she made were horrible to my ears.
At the end of the hour, her once silent cries had now turned into full on wailing and screaming. It broke me to see her like this, this wasn't the Erica I knew, the Erica I knew would never cry, she would never make any of the unruly sounds she was making now.
What had Joshua said?
I want you all to suffer...
Both physically and mentally.
Well he certainly got the mentally one checked, the one he probably affected the least was Mike, and that's only because he wasn't crushing on her or wasn't a family member. But I knew Mike, and he was for sure going to be unnerved at seeing a friend like this.
It was currently three in the morning according to my mental clock, and Erica's cries didn't seem to be stopping, I wanted very much to see what she was seeing right now that was making her like this. I would do anything to ease her pain.
Seeing my distress, Catherine told me to go to sleep. "In fact, I think it's a good idea if all of you children get some shut eye. I'll keep watch over my daughter so she doesn't hurt herself."
Her tone wasn't agitated per-say, but it didn't have it's normal chirp to it either.
Believing that her advice was for the best, the three of us lay down on the cold hard ground, letting Catherine and Erica use the bed that I had woken up in only hours before.
And with the sounds of depressing sobs keeping us company, we shut our eyes and fell asleep.

Kind of short, not even a thousand words, but I want to keep the good part for next chapter. (Aka: an excuse for me to have time to re-read my notes to remember the plot, but we don't mention that.)
Thank you for reading, writing this has really brought back some old feelings. Be sure to vote, comment or follow me if you enjoyed. DON'T BE A SILENT READER!
