Elizabeth's Pov.
I opened my eyes to Conner and Travis above me. My hand flew up and I slapped both of them.
"Owwww," they said simultaneously.
They deserved it. I stuck out my tongue.
"It's time to get dressed, eat breakfast, and figure out what your weapon is," Conner elaborated. Travis nodded along.
I swung my legs off the edge of the bed. I stood up and walked over to a carry on bag that mysteriously appeared and had all of my stuff in it. Literally. It was enchanted to be bottomless. I opened one side to reveal my clothes. I opened another side to see toiletries: hairbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even my body wash puff ball (I have no idea what it is called). And opened the middle to reveal all my personal items.
I took my bag into the bathroom and locked the door. I took off... a nightgown? I don't remember putting that on, but it was beautiful so I gently pulled off the blue dress. I put it on my bag and it is immediately sucked into it. Wow, whoever my parent was, they've got style. I changed into the orange shirt the camp had given me and a pair of blue jean shorts that stopped above my knees. It had pieces of thread hanging off it. I threw on some yellow ankle socks and some grey tennis shoes.
I walked out and motioned for Conner and Travis to lead the way. They took me out to the pavilion. I sat next to Thalia again. Thalia talked about what happened at the camp. "... And we have we have capture-the-flag. You know what? How about after you get a weapon, I show you around camp?" she suggested.
I nodded. I pointed to her then to the heavens.
"Oh, my parent?" she asked.
I nodded.
"My father is Zeus, king of the Gods, God of the sky."
I scrunched up my nose. Wasn't he Mr. Big Ego. Thunder rumbled. Sorry. The thunder stopped. Maybe. Thunder rumbled. Ok I meant it when I said sorry. The thunder stopped again. I looked around to see everyone looked up at the sky. Whoops, didn't mean to cause a scene. I went to the fire and threw ¾ of my food in. 'To whoever my mom is and Zeus: please don't zap me or hate me.' I went back to the table and quickly ate.
I stood and the twins looped their arms in mine. They took me to a type of training ground. We tried all different kinds of weapons. Spear, nope. Dagger, nada. Sword, not just no, but Hades no.
I was almost ready to give up when an Apollo daughter came over. Art, I think; it made sense, her dad was also the God of prophecies so maybe she had fortune telling gift. "Why don't you try a bow?" she suggested.
I shrugged and went to grab one. It seemed fine, but not like it was meant for me at all. I pulled out an arrow and notched the bow. I sighed, thinking it was pointless. I pulled back, closed my eyes, and let it go. My eyes flew open when I heard gasps. I saw the arrow hit the dead center, of an Apollo kid's target, slicing open his arrow.
"You missed!" the daughter cried.
I slowly nodded.
"Where did you even aim?"
I shrugged. I hadn't aimed. She watched me in surprise, blinking. I was very good at reading body language, and she was only acting surprised. I tried again, but this time I aimed for my target. I aimed for the center, drew in a breath, and released the string as I let out the breath. I slowly opened my eyes. It had cut through the target and pierced the wood holding it up. It had still hit the center. Sweet.
After hours of practice with different weapons, a buff daughter of Ares walked over. "Hey," she called in a rough voice. I barely acknowledged her. "I'm talkin' to you," she said. I still didn't look at her. "NEW GIRL!" she bellowed.
I sighed and looked at her. I gave her a shrug.
