You know that special someone, that no matter what, no matter the time, the distance...makes your heart skip a beat whenever you see them? Right. That's exactly what happened when I entered to halloween party I was invited to. She was there, I knew it the second I stepped into the house, because suddenly, all my eyes could do was seeing her. Just both of us staring at each other, meters away. She small smiled at me before walking my way.
"Shit, what a coincidence" She said before hugging me tightly. I pressed her body to mine and couldn't help but let some tears rolled down my cheeks. I dried them away quickly before pulling apart. "So...a mouse ate you tongue, I think." I laughe and nodded. "Why aren't you speaking to me?"
"Uh..." I tried to speak but was still out of words. She chuckled and frowned.
"Sorry, I think maybe you don't remember me. May I introduce myself again? I'm Demi, you know...the singer. I acted on two films with you, we were the best of friends until-"
"I do remember you Demi, don't be silly. I just...wasn't expecting to find you here tonight."
"Yea, me neither. But I'm actually happy we are here tonight."
"Me too." She looked behind me and frowned. "Where's Sophie?"
"Um, she stayed at home. Didn't feel like going out, apparently." She nodded at my words and bit her lip slightly.
"So, you're alone tonight..."
I smiled and shook my head. "I'm with you."
She sent me a big smile and nodded before grabbing my arm. "There's so many delicious food in that table, let me take you there." I chuckled and we walked to the table where we ate some food while chit chatting. After a while, we headed outside to the rooftop and saw people were dancing and having a good time.
I noticed someone was using drugs next to us and Demi looked really uncomfortable so I grabbed her hand. "Just look at me." She nodded and gave me a half smile.
"Joe, is everything really okay with you? You look drained." I bit my lip and shrugged before feeling my eyes turning teary. "It's not okay, nothing actually." I glanced at her and she showed me a worried face. "Sophie and I have so many problems. We are about to divorce and no one knows it, and Willa is still just a baby, we didn't want to do that to a little girl like her but it's just...Sophie cheated on me about three months ago. I tried forgiving her and giving us another chance but she just wasn't like before anymore so we chose to divorce."
"She cheated on you? That's horrible Joe, I'm so sorry." She hugged me and I allowed myself to cry some tears on her shoulder. "I know you won't believe me but I promise everything will be okay." I nodded and she kissed my forehead after pulling apart. "Do you wanna stay in this party or..." I shook my head and she nodded standing up. "Let's go somewhere else."
We walked to the door of the department and she glanced at me. "We should leave this hotel and go somewhere out of the town or rumors would go wild."
"What if we can't make it back to town tonight?" I asked causing her to frown. "Are you busy tomorrow?" I shook my head. "Sophie's with Willa?" I shook my head again. "She's with my parents, Sophie's out of town." She nodded and smiled. "Give me your phone please" I gave it to her and she called my mom. "Hello? This is Demi um, Lovato...oh don't worry, Joe and I met in a party and I think he needs a day out of the town and all the craziness he's going through. Do you think you could take care of Willa for a day? Cause I saw him and he looks destroyed...yeah, you're the best, I'll see you all around, love you, it was nice to talk to you...bye."
