Chapter 4

Y/n's pov:
Me and rafe walk out of his Hotel room and go the elevator. I push the button and the doors open immediately. We both walk into the elevator and rafe pushes the ground button. He stands back leaning against the elevator wall and puts one foot on it so he's kinda posing, but didn't do it on purpose he just found it comfortable. I look over at him and smile "now who's the one posing" I say while smiling. He looks over at me, "me!" He says with a kidish voice being silly. We both laugh then the elevator doors open. I walk out first with rafe following straight after me. We walk to my car, rafe hops in the passenger seat and I am about to hop until I see someone that I recognize. I look closely and see my dad. I quickly run over to rafe. "Rafe can you please drive" I say. He agrees and hops out of the passenger seat and walks over to the drivers seat. "Quickly!" I yell at him. He looks back at me and just hops in the car and closes the door. I hop in and close the door quickly. I lean over to the keys and push the lock button leaving rafe awkwardly sitting back because I'm basically leaning on his lap. I look up at him. "I'm stuck I can't get back up" I say laughing. He joins in and puts his arms underneath me and helps me up. "Thanks" I say buckleing up. "No problem" he says buckleing up as well. He drives the car up to the service room until I tell him to stop. He stops the car confused, "what's wrong?" He says, I don't awnser I just looks past him into the service room. I see my dad. "Thought so" I lean back and look out the window and tell him he can go. He drives off, "Is everything ok." He asks me, I don't reply just stare out of the window sadly. He glances over at me then back at the road "y/n tell me what's wrong" I still don't awnser him just stare out of the window. I look over at the radio and turn it on and idfc plays. I stare back out the window as the chorus comes on. A tear rolls down my cheek. Rafe looks over at me and sees a tear drop from my cheek onto my lap. He pulls over and I still dont look at him. "Why did we pull over" I say still staring out of the window, rafe could hear the sadness in my voice. Rafe looks at me then grabs my hands making me look at him. He looks into my teary bright blue eyes and I look in his dazzling blue eyes as well. "Y/n tell me what's wrong" he says causing me to look down. "Y/n I can't hello you unless you tell me what's wrong" he continues. "I don't want to talk about it" I say takes my hands out of his and facing the other way. I turn off the radio and stare out of the window waiting for him to turn back around or drive to my house. He looks at me one more time then looks at the road. He continues the drive to the mall. We get to the mall and it takes him 5 minutes to find a free parking spot. He unbuckles him self, turns the car off then hops out. He closes the door then walks over to my door. He opens it causing me to look up, he leans over me and unbuckles my seat belt. "You know I could've done that myself" I say as he stands back up. He grabs my wrists and pulls me out of the car, he closes the door then locks the car. "Rafe I don't want to go to the mall" Rafe looks over at me. "We're going to the mall I've got a surprise for you and it took me 5 minutes to find this car park" he says. I roll my eyes and Rafe lite my hand in his and walks off with me following him like a bad smell. We get to the mall entrance and walk in. I see Kiara and look over at Rafe. "There's Kie" I say whispering to him. He looks over and takes his hand out of mine. Kie walks over to us, "hey y/n! Why are you with Rafe, jj's gonna get so mad he's here" Kiara says to me. "Wait he is" she nods and I move further away from Rafe. JJ, John B and Pope walk around the corner and walk up to us. "Oh hey y/n nice to see you here" John b says. Jj doesn't say anything just stands there. "Why are you with Rafe?" Pope asks me. I look over at pope. "Oh no I'm not with him I was walking around the mall then bumped into Rafe then into Kie" I say, "we didn't come here together" I say continuing what I said. Rafe nods. "Oh well we're gonna get going bye have fun I guess" jj says then walks off. The others follow him after waving to me. "Now to the surprise" Rafe says. He grabs my hand and pulls me closer to him. We walk into glassons, I look at him "what are we doing here?" I ask questioning why we're in glassons. He looks down at me "well I work here so in going to buy you something and you will get a discount" he says, "no Rafe you don't thave to do that I can pay for myself with or without discount" I say not letting him pay for me later on. "No y/n I'm paying, now go pick out one or two things" he says. I let go of his hand and go to the woman's wear and to the dresses. The first dress I see is this flowy beach dress which is a light blue colour. I immediately fall in love with it, I look for if they have my size and they do. I grab it and walk over to the fitting rooms with Rafe following me. We walk through the bikinis and I find one I like and it's in my size, I grab it and keep walking with Rafe behind me. We get to the fitting rooms and I go in one and close the door. "So which one you going to get changed into first?" Rafe asks me through the door because it has a gap at the top and the bottom (I big gap at the too and small one st the bottom). "Um the dress" I say through the door. He says k and I get changed. I admire myself in the mirror before opening the door. I open the door and Rafe looks at me. "Do what do you think?" I ask swaying a little to make the dress swing side to side. "I think you look wonderful and the dress suits you" he says. I blush a little and stand there for a minute letting him admire how pretty I am. "I'm going to get changed into the bikini now" he nods and looks over at the men wear because he feels like someone's watching him, he sees topper and before you close the door he pushes it open a bit "Rafe what are you doing!?" I say raising my voice. "Toppers here and he's looking over at us so don't walk out of the dressing room when yoy have the bikini on just open the door" he says, I nod and close the door on him. I get changed and look in the mirror, "Damn I look hot" I say to Rafe, "oh yeah let's see who looks hotter me or you" he says knowing that the awnser will be me. I open the door and show Rafe, he drops his jaw and prentends to pick it up "sorry just dropped my jaw I need it back please" he says making up both laughing. He stands back up and looks me up and down. "So what do you think about this one" I say "I know we're like best friends but I have to admit that you looking smoking hot" he says making me blush and giggle abit. "Thanks" we stand there looking at each other for about 10 seconds until I say something making Rafe break his focus on me. "Um I'm going to get changed then we can go find you clothes" I say. He nods and I close the door and get changed back into my jeans and tight crop top. I grab the two outfits and open the door and see Rafe looking over at the men's wear at Topper who is looking at the shirt he wants. He doesn't notice me walk out of the changing room. "Come on let's go" I say making him look down at me. We walk over to where topper is and stand next to him. Topper looks over "oh hey Rafe" he says, "sup Tops" Rafe says back, they do this hand shake thing then hug. Topper notices me and looks over at me, "what are you doing in the men's section shopping for your lazy brother?" Topper says making my eyes fill with anger. "My brother is not lazy and I'm not shopping for him he can do that himself" I say normally but with a angry tone. He could clearly tell that he pissed me off but was going back for more. "So what are you doing here then?" Topper says, "shopping with Rafe" I say, topper laughs then looks over at Rafe, "why are you hanging out with this stupid slut pouge" topper says. My eyes widen and go sad a bit. I look at Rafe to see what he was going to do. His eyes fill with anger, he walks really close to topper their faces inches away. "Don't ever call my friend a slut again or next time you'll pay" Rafe says angerly, "oh sticking up for your little girlfriend" Topper says pissing him off even more. I look topper up and down in disgust. "We may not be dating but you can't ever say that about her" Rafe says backing up to stand next to me. I walk up to topper, "you've seen what I can do and I'm not afraid to do it again" I say then he laughs, "and you've seen what I can do and I will do it again if I have too" topper says then walks away. I walk back to Rafe and hug/cling onto his arm. He looks down at me, "you ok after what topper said?" He asks me. I fake smile, "yeah I get called a slut a lot when I'm at my dad's" I say looking up to him "but thanks for sticking up for me" I continue. He say no problem then we look at the shirts. I'm looking at the shirts when Rafe looks down at me then smiles. I can feel a pair of eyes on me so I look up at Rafe and see him looking down at me smiling. "You don't normally cling onto my arm everything all right?" He asks me still looking down at me. "Just feel safer when im close to you" I say awnsering his question. I look back at the tops then he looks back at the tops. "So which one or ones do you want" I ask him still looking st the tops. I point to one, "I really like this one and think it would suit you" I say then look up at him. "It's a whole different style from what in used to" he says. "Well there's always time for a change" I say, he looks down at me, "uhm it does looks nice I just don't know if it will suit me" he says. "Well why not you try it on" I say grabbing his size, (it's a dark blue sweatshirt type thing with no collar) I start walking back to the fitting rooms, and Rafe follows, I see a white button up top with a collar and grab it as well. He sighs, we get to the fitting rooms and I hand him the clothes. He takes them then walks into the changing room "I'm going to grab some jeans be right back" I say he says k then I leave. I walk over to the jeans area and grab some blue jeans in his size then walk back to the fitting rooms and knock on the door. He opens it a crack and I pass him the jeans, he takes them. "Ok im finished" he says, I pay my attention on the room, "k show me then" I say, he opens the door then walks out. "Woah don't you look handsome" I say, "do you like it or not" I continue. "Um I don't know I suit it but don't know if it's my style or not" he says awnsering my question. "Oh ok I think you should get it" I say, he nods then walks back into the fitting room. He starts to get changed and then I see my ex walk into the store. Reagan notices someone looking at him and looks to were he thinks they are, he notices me. I walk up to the door and lean against it. "Rafe my abusive ex is here please hurry up" I say to Rafe. "Yeah I'm almost finished" he says. I look over at Reagan and see that he's still looking at me. He's probably wondering who is in the fitting room. It's been a minute and I look over to see if Reagan was still looking at me and sure enough he is. I'm not against the door but I'm still pretty close. Rafe opens the door and walks out. "So where's this twit" he says a bit angry but not really "he's near the men's wear" I say making Rafe look over there, "you mean that blonde one who looks like a high school popular kid" Rafe says. I look over at Reagan again, "yep that's him" I say then look back at Rafe. He look down at me, "just avoid him make sure he doesn't go near you." He says. I nod, "now let's go pay for these" Rafe says to me. We walk over to the self check outs and go to one. I scan my stuff and then Rafe scans his, he enters the employee discount code then pays. His card is accepted and we put our stuff in a bag then walk out of the store. Reagan follows us, I look behind and see him a couple meters away. I grab Rafe's arm and look up at him, he looks down at me. "Rafe he's following us" I say worried. "Don't worry ok were going to go get Starbucks and exit the mall" he says. Reagan walks up next to me. "Hey y/n, fancy seeing you here" Reagan says, I look over at Rafe and he looks down at me then we both look over at Reagan. "Yeah sure is" I say. He looks over at Rafe, "who's this?" I look over at Rafe then back at Reagan "my best friend" Reagan looks at you confused "you hug your best friends arm?" He says confused. "Well when we used to be best friends I used to hug your arm" I say back to him. "That's only because you liked me" I roll my eyes, Rafe looks at me and smirks. "Yeah but I don't like Rafe were best friends we do basically everything together and I love him so much as a friend" I say, Rafe looks down at me, "love me huh" he says, I look up at him "as a friend! I said that" I say to Rafe. Reagan walks beside Rafe and whispers to him, "man your lucky, you got a cute one" Reagan whispers then walks away. I look over at Rafe, "what did he say?" I ask him, "he said that Im lucky because I got a cute one" he says. I roll my eyes. "Weren't we going to get lunch?" I say changing the topic, "yeah we were, where do yoy wanna go for lunch" I look around the shops and see no food stores. "Why not Starbucks" I say. "Ok let's go" we walk to starbucks and line up. We wait 3 minutes then it's our turn. "Hello what can I get for you two today" the lady at the cash register says. "Um can I please get a grande double chocolate chip frap with whip cream" I say to her. She puts that down then looks up and Rafe, "and you mister" she says, "um can I please just get a standard coffee with 2 sugars tall size" he says, she puts that down on the thing then says we can pay now. Rafe puts his card over the eftpos thing and does his pin, it accepts. "Oh-kay can I please have a name for these drinks" Rafe looks at me. "Rafe" I say. She gets 2 cups writes down our orders then asks how to spell Rafe. "R-a-f-e" I say with her writing it down. "Thank you, you may wait at a table until your drinks are ready" she hands us a table number and we walk away and sit at a table for two. We awkwardly sit there until me and Rafe get a text on our phones.

Y/n's phone:
JJ: are you still with that kook?
Y/n: yeah were getting starbucks and then I'm staying the night because I never get time away from you two
JJ: you should've asks permission first but what ever
Y/n: Jay I'm 16 why do I need permission I'm almost an adult
JJ: your 2 years away from being a adult and I have to take care of you
Y/n: what ever your not even an adult
Y/n: good bye
JJ: cya
Rafes phone:
Topper: are you still with that pouge
Rafe: yes I am still with y/n she's spending the night with me
Topper: oh cause I was going to invite you to get high in my hot tub with me and Kelce but you do you
Rafe: wait what time?
Topper: 9, why do you care?
Rafe: can me and y/n go?
Topper: I quess but she has to be nice to us
Rafe: k I will see you then
Topper: cya
Off both phones. The drinks arrive and I grab mine. I shiver straight away as I pick it up. Rafe laughs, I join in. I then grab rafes and take a sip. He steals mine and takes a sip too. He swap drinks and some random comes up to us, we both look over at them. "Hello? " I say "hey I just wanted to say you two are such a cute couple" they say. I smile, "thanks" I say back responding to them. They leave. "You didn't even deny it" Rafe says looking over at me. "Cause that would be to embarrassing I've done that before I said that some random 2 people were a nice couple and they turned out being best friends and I was so embarrassed" I say. He sighs then stands up. "Come on let's go back to the car" he says. I stand up and hold his hand. We walk through the mall with people looking at us. We get to the car and I hop in the drivers seat. "Keys please" I say. Rafe hands me the keys and we both buckle up. I start the car and back out. I start driving back to the hotel, I stop at a red light and Rafe looks at me I look back at him. "So Topper invited me to get high with him and Kelce in his hot tub tonight and I said yes" I look back at the traffic lights and it turns green. I drive straight forward. "So you are just going to leave me at YOUR hotel by myself and go get high with your friends" I say a bit annoyed. "No I asked if you could come and he said yes so long as your nice to them" Rafe says still looking at me. "I'll go I guess" I say back. I drive back to the hotel and park in the floor 4 parking lot. We both hop out and go to the room. I get to the door first and unlock it and walk in with Rafe behind me. My dad sees us walk into Rafe's hotel room and walks up to the door. He knocks on it and Rafe awnser because I just sat down. "Hello?" Rafe says. "Who is it" I ask Rafe. "I don't know" he awnser back, "y/n is that you?" Luke says (my dad) I stand up and walk to Rafe, I see my dad and go behind Rafe. "Dad please leave" I say with a scared tone. "Wait this is your dad?" Rafe says, Rafe looks behind him to me and I nod. "Well yoy should probably go" he says looking back at luke. "Why I just want to see my daughter" luke says. "Well she doesn't want to see you" Rafe says then goes to shut the door but luke holds it open and walks in. I grab into Rafe and hide from luke. "D-dad please l-leave" I say scaredly from behind Rafe. "Go hide in the bathroom I'll get him out" Rafe whispers to me. I run into the bathroom and lock the door. Luke follows me but I close the door just in time. "Hey man you should leave, we didn't invite you in" Rafe says. Luke looks over at Rafe, "who asked for your opinion" luke says then walks over to Rafe. Im sitting against the door and start crying.
