An eleven-year-old Ajabdeh had found a wounded calf in the jungle. The family had gone out for a picnic in the forests of Bijolia where the calf had lost its way. They had brought home the calf. Ajabdeh had tended to it and since then it had remained with her. It was after that, that the cow shed had been made. She talked to it. It was her best friend.

Amidst their quarrel, Ram gently grabbed Ajabdeh by her hand and pulled her aside.

"Ajab, I have a surprise for you." He said.

"For me?" She asked surprised.

"Come with me." Saying so the father and daughter walked outside.

He took her to the veranda. His hands placed on her eyes to blind fold her.

"Daata, Whats happening? Blindfolding and all?"

"Patience." He slowly removed his hands from her eyes as Ajabdeh opened her eyes. A white cow was standing in front of her.

"LAXMIIII!!!!!" Ajabdeh shouted in excitement.

"MOOO." The cow mooed in response.

"This is nice, now that you have Laxmi, who is going to remember that a certain boy named Balwant is even home. Daata look, once Jija is with her cow she forgets everything and everyone."

Ram laughed at the boy's statement

"Pretty rich coming from the boy who forgets to eat and drink once he is in the kitchen and cooking god knows what."

"So? Dear sister, let me remind you that I am going to become a chef."

"So?"

"So! So I need to be in the kitchen to study,"

"Look at you being lame." Ajabdeh taunted.

"Okay okay kids, enough, go get ready." Ram said, putting a halt to the banter. Balwant walked inside and while walking he pulled Ajabdeh's hair.

"Balwant!!" She screamed. She ran behind Balwant and ruffled his hair.

The door closed. Ram was now tying up the cow to the near by when Hansa came out searching for her husband.

"Ram?!"

"Over here." He replied.

Hansa noticed the cow and smiled as Ram finished tying the cow to a nearby tree. He gently patted the cow. Hansa walked up to the cow and patted the cow as well as a soft Laxmi escaped her lips. In no time was it seven and the Sisodias were all ready to greet their guests. They were waiting in the living room when the bell rang. The servant opened the door. Jaiwanta and family walked towards the door and greeted their guests. She smiled, but her eyes were busy finding a person. Successful in finding the person Jaiwanta smiled. Pratap noticed his mother smiling and nudged her to ask why was she smiling. Jaiwanta nodded her head. Ajabdeh entered the Sisodias Veranda in a stressed-jeans, a four slit black Kurta, her long hair let lose. One could find the bun stick with her, she had kohl smudged in her eyes but this time it is paired with kajal and is wearing long jhumkas.

"So sorry, the door was a challenge to lock." Ajabdeh apologized as she bent down and to seek the blessings of Jaiwanta and Udai Singh.

"Sanskari, Dadabhai," Shakti whispered to his brother. But the whisper was loud enough that Ajabdeh could hear it
