"Sorry? Mujh se kuch bole?"
"Nahi toh. Voh mujh se baat kar raha tha." Pratap replied as he placed his hands in his jean pockets.
"Absolutely." Shakti added
"Oh! Toh shayad meine galat sun liya. Sanskari and all. But anyways." " Ajabdeh replied tauntingly
"What do you mean?" Pratap asked.
"Nothing." She replied.
"Ajeeb insaan hai bich mein hi English bich mein hi hindi bolta hai ye." Ajabdeh mumbled to herself."Chalo aao sabh, under chalte hai." Jaiwanta said looking at the kids and the adults alik.
As everyone headed inside the mansion, Ratna noticed that the mansion was huge. and that the walk way was laid down in stones surrounded by grass everywhere. Balloon lights hung from the trees and a wooden door separated the veranda from the house. The door opened and a huge sand art of welcome greeted them. The walls in the house were a muted color of mustard as a huge sofa was placed in the middle of with two chairs on each side which faced opposite to a staircase on the leading to a second floor which was perfectly aligned with a wall which had a mandala wall art, giving the staircase aligned wall an aesthic look, perfect to click pictures, Ratnavati thought. The living room was brightly lit. Once Ratnavati took the entirety of the living room in she was in awe of the place.
"Jija this is the real definition of Palace , what you think??"
Ajabdeh disliked it when people got their grammar wrong. She had even heard people remark her as the grammar nazi. But she didn't care. So she corrected her sister. Pratap and Shakti who were walking behind the sisters, couldn't help but overhear the conversation as Pratap mumbled
"Such a grammar nazi she is." To which Shakti sniggered.
Ajabdeh raised her eyebrows and stopped in the middle, "Excuse me??! Did you say something??"
"Nope, you can continue your grammar discussion. But I think you should stop correcting each and every person who spells the sentence wrong or forgets one or two words, cause you know what it's a trend in today's modern world every teenage girl uses such English statements" Ajabdeh now turned around to face Pratap.
Ajabdeh rolled her eyes, " It is none of your business and it's because not cause. And I am not a grammar Nazi it's just that I don't want my sister to get embarrassed anywhere, anyway why am I supposed to give you an explanation. Vaise bhi ajeeb ho tum, beech mein hi English ka channel shuru karte ho and then vapas beech mein se he hindi ka channel shuru karte ho. Mujhe toh tum bohat ajeeb lage." Pratap raised his eyebrow agter hearing Ajabdeh speak so much.
"Jija calm down, there is nothing to get angry"
As Ajabdeh was ranting to Pratap about his weird language changes and her issue with people speaking the wrong English she was going to bump into a pillar but Pratap caught ahold of her and pulled her back.
"Watch out!"
"Thanks, but I can help myself out"
Pratap rolled his eyes and murmured under his breath that she was such a snobbish Grammar Nazi. Ajabdeh shot him a look and continued walking. Ratnavati was star struck seeing all those light glimmer. Ajabdeh was in a passive aggressive mood whom Ratnavati was trying to cheer her up."Jija please calm down we are at Masa's childhood homie's house please calm down, If masa will come to know she will get angry please Jija"
Ajabdeh and Pratap both stopped in their tracks.
" HOMIE?" They asked together.
They looked at each other as they realized they had spoken together.
"Yeh homie kya hota hai?" Pratap asked completely taken back
"Yeh dekho firse channel badli." Ajabdeh mumbled which eventhough Prata had heard decided to ignore her.
"BFF" Ratnavati replied seemingly unaware of her sister's remark."See miss.... Its" Pratap started.
Ratnavati interrupted him.
"Its Ratnavati, but you could call me Ratnaa"
"Yeah, so Ratnavati its called a Best Friend not a BFF or Homie as you termed it."
Ajabdeh shot him a look and murmured under her breath, "Now look whose being a Grammar Nazi."
"Did you say something?" Pratap asked.Ajabdeh simply shrugged. Between their Cat fights they hadn't noticed that Shakti wasn't with the group. He now came running to inform that their mothers were worried. Ajabdeh and Pratap realized that they were still standing in the veranda. They now walked briskly.
