kol had begun saying random things to spark conversation with the others in the room, but mostly hestia as she was still new to him. she was happy to indulge in the unique little conversation starters he would choose, finding it amusing how he just wanted to pick at her brain by saying the most peculiar of things.
soon enough, a smirk befell his face as they heard a new presence enter the home, followed by rebekah walking into the room as her brother spoke.
"well, well, well. there's our girl."
he playfully blocked her way when she tried to get around him, drawing an amused smile out of the goddess when his sister snapped back at him, "get out of my way, kol."
their relationship, though she hadn't witnessed much of it, reminded her much of the twins. or even hermes and athena at times. the dynamics between some of the younger olympians, outside of all the regular arguing, were quite precious to her, and seeing the mikaelsons act similarly to her nieces and nephews reminded her of the sides of her family she actually missed while being on the run.
"out all night. what a scandal." he took a second to pretend to ponder, eager to tease his sister. "i trust you did better than that commoner. matt, was it?"
at that, though, hestia drew a bit of a line, calling to him, "matt is a sweet boy, kol. i don't appreciate you mocking him, so, if you would please stop."
the vampire's smirk turned to a scowl quickly, swiveling his head to face the woman as he opened his mouth to, no doubt, say something utterly rude. but, seeing the no-nonsense look in her eyes the longer he stared back at her, he closed his mouth, dropped the frown, and easily went back to messing with rebekah with his expressions.
"don't start, nik," rebekah demands, catching the smirk on her other brother's face as he glances between the quibbling pair and his art, also amused at their antics.
"i didn't say anything," he remarks, sharing a smile with the goddess, who rolls her eyes fondly at him as the youngest two move further into the room.
kol fell onto the chair opposite the two friends, complaining, "i'm bored. our sister is a strumpet, but at least she's having fun. i need entertainment."
the hybrid was uninterested in his brothers' claims, though. "what are you waiting for? go on. have at it."
"it's no fun to go alone. join me, nik." the youngest brother then gestures to hestia, smiling innocently as he adds, "you should come as well, darling, we'll certainly have a blast."
but as he realized his brother wasn't going to give in, and the woman was waiting for whatever his response would be, the younger original decided to pull out his trump card, guilt tripping his elder brother by saying, "it's the least you could do after sticking a dagger in my heart."
hestia, feeling a surge of sympathy for him, turns her eyes to her friend, silently urging him to give into kol's request. and after realizing there was no way for him to get out of it, klaus let out a resigning sigh, putting down his art supplies.
"okay. why not? i didn't have nearly enough to drink last night, what with you trying to murder rebekah's date."
"yes, please go. this house has enough men rolling around in it," rebekah says after them, throwing her shoes at her brother at his next comment.
"just like you, bekah."
hestia got up to follow the two, smiling fondly while shaking her head, but paused before she could exit the main doorway, a swell of strong negative emotions catching her attention. she frowns, about to turn and find the source, only to have her thoughts cut off by the words of her friend.
