hestia had decided to stay in the underworld for a few days after esther's attempt to kill her own children, teaming up with her brother and thanatos to track down the annoying witch.

"currently, her living body is being powered by all the dead witches on the other side that want to kill the original vampires, and since she used doppleganger blood to link her children, she only needs to gather the strength and find power to channel in order to attempt to murder the lot of them like she did almost a week ago. the witches powering her and keeping her alive are also trying their hardest to keep her hidden from whatever the mikaelsons plan to do to track her down," hades recaps for the assembled gods, having been informed off all that was going on in mystic falls by his sister.

"but she's the one that created the vampires, right? and they're her children, too, so why is she trying to kill them?" hermes asks, eating a bag of potato chips while sitting in the chair across from his uncle.

"because by creating vampires, she disrupted nature, and she was tortured once she went to the other side. vampires are considered natures bastard child, and her son the hybrid is a bastard on a whole other level to the witch community," hecate explains, rolling her eyes at the messenger god when he just shrugs and puts another handful of chips in his mouth.

"it is something i will not allow to happen," hestia cuts in, looking each of the other gods in the eye as she speaks. "the originals are under my protection. and, it is not as if nature didn't balance itself out once vampires were created, as it always does. as mortal witches always preach, there are always loopholes, and nature creates them so that nothing is truly unmatched."

"as long as i am able to claim esther mikaelson's soul, i do not care what these originals do. from what i know of them, they were killed prematurely and turned into vampires against their wills, so it is not my concern how long they live, as long as they eventually die."

thanatos' words nearly send a shiver down the spines of the other gods, but they just nod at him before looking back to hecate.

"can you locate where esther mikaelson is, now?"

"i could if i had something of hers. yes, i am the goddess of magic, but even my magic doesn't just work as specific as that," she answers, near snapping at hermes when he once again rolls his eyes at her.

regaining hecate's attention, the goddess of the hearth says, "so i should contact niklaus and ask him for something of his mothers', yes?"

"or some of his blood, if he's willing to give it up. or even blood from one of his siblings, if he doesn't answer."

nodding, hestia leaves the others to go into another room through a doorway, taking her phone out of her pocket and scrolling through her limited list of contacts for the familiar name of the one and only hybrid. clicking on his name, she brings the device up to her ear, and waits.

thankfully, she didn't have to wait long, as he answered on the first ring.

"hestia?"

"nik, dear, it's so nice to hear your voice. how are you, my friend?"

she could practically hear the smile on his face at her words, smiling herself at the mental image.

"i'm fine, love, just letting rebekah deal with a few complications while i attempt to track down my suicidal elder brother. it is nice to hear from you, as well, though. when are you returning to mystic falls?"

sighing, she takes a seat in a comfy red love seat, letting out a sigh. "i'm not exactly sure, yet. we're still having a little bit of trouble tracking your mother down, as well, and none of us are happy about it. least of all thanatos. which, ties into my reason for calling you, dear."
