hestia had wanted to stay in mystic falls with sage while klaus and rebekah went to retrieve their brother, but all three vampires had insisted she go as well. it wasn't much of surprise for the siblings to want her to try and persuade him, but it was for sage to want her to go find her recently reawakened love.
"your being just radiates comfort, hestia. i'm sure sage picked up on it, and realized that you would be the best chance to peacefully bring finn back to that dreaded little town," rebekah had said when the goddess brought up her surprise.
unfortunately, hecate had not been able to find esther with her locating spells. it seemed, that once the dead witches powering esther had realized the goddess of magic herself had taken to tracking the dead woman down, they had diverted all their efforts to stopping hecate from locating her.
but the fortunate bit that came from that, was that they were able to find finn, so they decided to go straight for plan b.
unlink the mikaelsons.
she waited out of sight as the eldest living mikaelson ran into the alley, straight into the awaiting rebekah's path. his sister smirked at him, saying, "lets not make this any worse than it has to be, darling brother."
"you're siding with him? rebekah, he stored us in boxes!"
"at least he's not trying to make us extinct."
finn turns around to try and make an escape, only to come face to face with klaus, who had sauntered up casually.
"what are you going to do? kill me?"
"oh, yeah, that's right, you've got a death wish. fine. pathetic, but fine. the thing is, i'm not gonna let you take the rest of us down with you," the hybrid states passive aggressively, but before he could take hold of his older brother with the intention to hurt him, hestia cut in.
"now, now, nik, i'm sure he'll come peacefully if we just ask him," she says, moving in between the brothers and forcing some space between them.
rebekah gives her an incredulous look. "we just did! multiple times!"
"you didn't actually ask him, though, you both just threatened him. well, more nik than you, bekah, but still."
finn stares at her in what could only be described as pure shock, but he shook himself out of it and tried to force a glare towards the goddess, who had truly been nothing but kind to him in the time he'd known her.
"how are you condoning this, hestia? you're a peaceful goddess of family, why are you allowing them to continue destroying ours as niklaus has done for centuries?"
staring back at the eldest original, hestia's face twists into an understanding smile, and she moves forward to cup his cheek. he flinches back at her initial movement, drawing a sour expression out for a couple moments, before he allowed her to make contact and her soft smile returned.
"i believe there is hope for your family, and that things can become better for you all if the lot of you strive, as a family, to be better individuals. all of you have things to work on when it comes to your relationships, and there are no excuses for the pain any of you have been put through. but, you all need to actually try to work through your issues, if there is to be any improvement for your family," she explains to him, matching his stare as she can see the conflict in his eyes.
noticing that her slight lecture wasn't enough, she decided to pull out the big guns.
"and, also, i believe there are still some things you might deem worth living for. if not your family, then maybe someone who is waiting for you back in mystic falls."
