hestia left the mikaelson mansion not long after finn left to go converse with his mother. she knew there had been something up with him based on his reaction to esther interrupting them, and the upsetting my negative emotions that had followed him in his departure from her, but she shrugged off those thoughts and left to go pick up her niece.

"so, auntie, where are we going? am i getting to meet more of the vampires you've come to acquaint yourself with since hiding away in this grubby little town?"

the older goddess laughs at her words, nodding before speaking in response.

"yes, i am in fact taking you to meet another. nik is with his younger brother currently, most likely drinking away the entire stock of the mystic grill as we speak. i don't know if you'll enjoy kol much, though, because he is quite similar to your brother in personality."

artemis groans loudly, beginning to whine about her twin while letting her aunt lead her through the town square and towards what appeared to be a popular establishment.

the two women easily stole the attention of the entirety of the grill once stepping foot inside, the chatter falling to a momentary hush as they entered. it resumed not long after, but both goddesses were used to acting as if not every eye was on them whenever they walked into a room when visiting the human realm.

humans really were such simple creatures when it came to their standards of what was beautiful.

looking around the establishment, hestia smiles when her eyes land on the two familiar figures sitting at the bar, both of them staring at the goddesses as she begins to lead her niece towards them. artemis scrunches her nose up almost instinctively once spotting who she was moving towards, but refrained from commenting.

"ah, hestia! so lovely of you to join us! and who might this young lady be?" klaus exclaimed once the two reached him and his brother, earning an eye roll from artemis as she knew the cause for his grin as he spoke.

"calm down, nik, i didn't leave you two unsupervised for that long. and, this is my niece, artemis," she introduces. kol raises an eyebrow at the name, looking between the women with slight confusion, as well as suspicion.

"hestia and artemis? is your family full of greek mythology nuts?"

the older goddess just smiles and takes a seat next to klaus, gesturing for artemis to take the other one next to her.

"something like that, kol. i wouldn't think too much on it."

his eyebrows furrow at her words. "also, your niece appears to be the same age as you. do you have an older brother named zeus, or a relative of the like?"

hestia and artemis share a look, small smiles on their faces as the younger original looked between the two of them with obvious distaste at being left out. when he looked to his older brother, that distaste doubled when seeing that klaus was just smirking along, taking a sip from his drink and smugly raising an eyebrow as if in challenge at his younger brother.

kol decides to ignore him and grabs his drink off the top of the bar, taking a deep swig from it before holding the bottle out to hestia, smirking at the woman.

"would you like a drink, darling?"

hestia just smiles at him once again, shaking her head slowly at him.

"no thank you, kol. i'm not much of a drinker."

he quirked an eyebrow at her, questioning, "but i saw you drinking at the party?"

"my aunt will drink when she feels like doing so with the proper company. you, i'd say, are not the right kind. she rarely ever associates with people as crass as you already seem to be," artemis cuts in, practically glaring at the boy and his outstretched arm. realizing the focus point of her glare, he retracts the limb with an innocent shrug.
