The morning sun had started to shine through my window indicating it was time to wake up and get ready for school. I yawned as my alarm went off, the song You got it by Vedo playing in the background, my phone vibrating waking me up.
As I opened my heavy eyes, I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand as I started to stretch letting out a squeal of relief as soon as I did so.

It was my first day as a senior after graduating grade 12 and advancing to my supposed University. It was also my first day at Osbourne University, considering I want to get there as early as possible so I don't appear lost even though countless people would understand why I would be, considering I moved to a new country.
Moving to Italy was my stepdad's decision, he claimed that my grandmother would have the best medical treatment there and that he could be closer to work. I knew the 'best medical treatment' excuse was false considering he barely paid for it but I have a strong feeling that the 'work' excuse could be true but then again I don't really know what he does as an occupation neither do I care.

I get out of bed as I make my way to my closet, grabbing the clothes I picked out yesterday and laid them on my bed. I had picked a night black blouse, puffed by the shoulders. It showed off my evident collar bones and smooth dark skin.

I paired it with my grey denim ripped jeans and my white air forces. I had my hair done into a ponytail, slicked back into perfection. My makeup done giving off a natural beauty which was what I were going for

I continued to the bathroom after laying my clothes on my bed as I showered and did my daily morning routine. I went out of the bathroom, put on my chosen attire and went downstairs.
"Morning angel", was the first thing I heard as I went downstairs into the kitchen. Repulsed I stayed silent as I maneuvered past my step dad and into the kitchen to grab my lunch for school

"Morning honey, I don't think you heard me", he said as he spat those words at me with anger at my lack of response.
"I heard you, not replying to you is my way of ignoring you or should I define the word 'ignoring' to you"? I said, my voice laced with sarcasm and repulsion. I continue to take out my lunch out of the fridge and continued upstairs to get my school bag.
"Now is that how you greet your dad in the morning", he said as he stalked towards me with a sly smirk playing on his lips and his eyes scanning my attire. "Last time I checked my dad died and I have not had any other dad since". I said as I cautiously walked backwards seeing the way his face morphed from being a smirking bastard to an angry lunatic.

"I see you forgot how you should speak to me, I don't hear respect in your tone", he said as he cornered me to the wall in the living room near the stairs. "Maybe I should remind you what happens to you when you disrespect me"! He exclaimed as his hand wrapped around my neck tightening his grip just enough to remind me of the consequences of my actions. I quickly pushed him away as i ran back up the stairs to my room.
I ran into my room, turning around and locking the door knowing he let me off easily because I hadn't put a lot of strength into pushing him off of me but I was happy to just be in my room.

I put my lunch bag in my school bag and took out my charger from my phone. As soon as I had put my bag over my shoulder, my phone rang in the silence of my bedroom.
The sound of the familiar ring tone I had set for the person calling makes me smile slightly, my smile widens when I see the caller ID.
"Hey girl, where are you, I'm outside", my best friend says as she pulls up to the curb on the pavement waiting for me so I could get to school on time.

"Hey, I'm on my way downstairs now", I tell her as I unlock my door and check if the coast is clear. Realizing that he is not there, I practically sprint down the stairs and out the front door to my best friend's car.
Jade has been my best friend for 8 years. She was beautiful, stylish, sweet, caring and funny not to mention sarcastic majority of the time. She always had my back even if I were the one who was wrong but she always gave me good advice about it later not in front of my peers. She has never lied to me thus why I trust her with my life. Jade Le Roux was pretty popular at Osbourne considering she had moved there a year before I had but then again she was a very likable introvert.

Her parents were wealthy but she never was a girl who cared too much about how much money her parents owned, she continued to work hard so that she could make a name for herself, earn her own money, learn certain skills without always being in her parent's shadow.
"He didn't touch you did he"? She asked as she knew all about my abusive step-dad. She always asked because she wished she could help me out. She wanted to help me escape when I were 14 but he was my legal guardian considering my dad died when I were eight and my mom died when I were 12, both car accidents but I always wondered why I felt suspicious about it from the beginning, my grandmother was in the hospital for a brain tumor causing her Alheimers she was diagnosed with as she has been fighting against it since but due to the lack of money I couldn't help her get the best treatment possible.

"No, he backed off when I pushed him away from me before he could thoroughly strangle me", I said as I looked down. I didn't want to be the kid who was abused by her stepfather, constantly flinching every time someone raises their hand or fearing that one day I may finally leave that house but in a body bag.
I had nowhere to go because my best friend's house was under renovation and they are staying at a hotel for the time being. The hotel is for the prestigious visitors such as the richest of the rich and prince's and presidents, they don't let commoners in no matter if you had a friendship with the country's crown prince, still no entry.

"Oh my gosh! Are you okay! I'm so sorry I can't help you out", she said as she momentarily turned to face me as she was driving seeing the school's gold encased gates coming into view.

"It's okay, I'll survive, you don't have to worry about me". I said as I continued to look down slowly trying to think of a way out. My thoughts were cut short when Jade said: "Well we're here".
I looked up only to have my eyes widen at the beautiful architectural infrastructure in front of the car.

"Wow", was the last thing I said before Jade dragged me out of the car
