"Penny for your thoughts?" Jade questioned as she saw me, so deep into my thoughts that I was not listening to anything she was saying. I broke out of my thoughts as I realised I was not paying any attention to her."Oh yeah, I'm so sorry I wasn't listening to you", I said as I felt bad that a man I know nothing about was hogging my mind. "It's okay truly, what's up with you though, you seem distressed". I'm taken aback by her Honesty but decide to comply since she may be able to make sense of what happened. I feel embarassed as I think of what I am about to ask her but I know very well she won't judge me, right?
"Maybe it's just me but do you think the guy with the tattoos was purposefully trying to single me out or something", I asked as I looked down, very much embarassed of the words that spilled out of my mouth.
"Mr Osbourne? Oh yeah definetely", she said confidently as she continued to go to her locker situated just next door to mine near the music class next door. I almost snapped my neck with the way I whipped my head in her direction, eyeing her expectantly for her to further elaborate.
"Well personally I think he kinda likes you, i saw the way he looked at you, i don't even think he has ever looked at anybody that way, hmm weird". Jade said as she opened her locker and tilted her head as she shrugged disregarding the subject I felt was important.
"I don't think he likes me, I'm not even his type. He probably wants a girl who has a multitude of tattoos, knows how to ride a motorcycle, probably even a girl who knows how to carry a gun". I laugh to myself louder than I planned thinking about what Jade said about him liking me. "Completely absurd", I think to myself.
"Right, a woman with a gun, funny. He doesn't even look like a man who carries one LOL", she nervously laughs as she turns around to continue taking out her books for the next three classes. I completely disregard her nervous laugh and open my own locker to fish out my own textbooks.
"That would've been cool though, could you imagine how hot he would be? ", I say as I look into my locker to reach for my school books when I suddenly remember-" Damn it I totally forgot! I have to go get my class schedule from the principal's office, could you come with me?"
"Sorry girl I have English class first and I do not want to face miss Davenport's wrath today. Just go up two floors and take the fourth door on the left which is the library, it's a shortcut and it will point you directly to the hallways on the other side then you will continue down the corridor and go into the first door on the left". She said as she checked the time and started hurrying off to English class, leaving me with the list of verbal directions she had given me.
I started running in the direction she had told me to take, I kept mumbling the directions she had said as I continued looking for the library she had told me about. "1,2,3,4! Here it is", I exclaimed excitedly as I entered the library door and turned around to close it, as I turned back around I collided with a broad chest as it sent me doubling down onto the floor. Angered I looked up as I were met with two fierce eyes, eyeing me on the floor making me feel supremely humiliated.
"I-I'm so so sorry sir", I said as I hurriedly picked up my textbooks and stood up straight to look him in his eyes. He continues staring down at me not saying a word as his eyes scan me from top to bottom."Where are you going in such a hurry Miss Santoro?" He said as my eyes widened at the fact he knew my name. Embarassed but still curious as to how he knows my name, I ask him the tempting question.
"How do you know my name Mr Osbourne?" I questioned as confusion was written straight across my features as he slyly smirks. His smirk confident, mysterious, wild even. He intrigued me yet I didn't quite know why."I learn the names of the people who show promise or in this case have caught my attention and you Miss Toro have certainly caught my absolute and utter attention". I smile and say: "I should have considering I collided with you face first and embarassed myself in front of the owner of the school, I'm sure I definitely caught your attention".
He chuckled from my use of sarcasm and humour as he took the time to see my smile. "Sarcasm, my type of humour", he said as he moved closer to me, towering over my frame as he looked down at me. "Although, I prefer getting straight to the point", he said as my back hit the door behind me.
