When Lara came too her body shook with exhaustion, and her head was clouded over with panic. Outside, getting closer were the sounds of bombs and gunfire. She'd already vomited today, twice, at least she believed it was today, her throat raw from bile. She had no idea how she'd gotten there. The walls were the same muddy coat that was common in small Afghan villages. She didn't know how she got there but a battle was beyond this room and she waited with dread and trepidation for who would open the door.
