"And thus we will go to a trampoline hall."

The teacher announces as we all watch her walk up and down the classroom.

"So remember to bring your gym clothes with you and we will get changed when we arrive there."

School trips were always a lot of fun for me. Everyone would talk to me and I always had a lot of fun.

But this time I had to take care of Shinji.

First he needs his dad signature which he definitely won't get.

"Do you have any old stuff with your dad's signature on it?" I ask as Shinji searches his backpack for something while we sit in the cafeteria.

"I think there's this paper for my school." He says and takes out a paper putting it down on the table.

"Perfect." I say and take a pen copying his dad's signature on it.

"Thank you Kaworu."

I look up at Shinji and give him a soft smile handing him the paper back.

"This trip is going to be so much fun."

I smile as Shinji gives me a worried look.

"Yeah. But the teacher said we're gonna have to change there right?"

I nod and take his hand: "I will make sure nobody sees your bruises."

Shinji gives me a weak smile and the bell rings.

After giving the paper with our parents' signature to our teacher we're allowed to go home.

The next day was the day of the trip.

I arrived one minute too late just so I can sit next to Shinji.

If I was early many people would have wanted to sit next to me and I would have to say yes.

This way every seat was taken because the girls who wanted to sit next to me gave up and ended up sitting next to their friends.

Every seat was taken except of course the one next to Shinji.

"Are there any free seats?" I ask the teacher to be less suspicious.

"Yes there's one right in the middle row next to Ikari."

I smile and thank her making my way to Shinji.

Shinji smiles and I notice he's listening to music.

"What are you listening to?"

Shinji hands me one of his ear pods and I put it in.

"I found the earphones on the street but they still work perfectly fine."

I smile and listen to the chill lofi music coming from Shinji's phone.

"I could fall asleep to this." I say closing my eyes slowly.

Shinji smiles and laughs softly: "Well I did fall asleep to it yesterday. Didn't have such a good sleep in years."

After listening to the wonderful tunes the bus already stops and we have to get out.

"Alright now go to the changing rooms and put on your gym clothes."

The teacher says and we all make our way to the changing rooms.

Shinji looks worried the whole time and as we enter the changing room Shinji sits down and waits for the other boys to change.

"Why isn't Ikari changing? Don't have your gym clothes? What a loser."
