Full Moon of Reunion

"Happy Birthday Taehyung!" everyone shouted together, the moment the Omega entered the doorway of his house, as the joyous chatter of the small crowd, overlapped with the ringing chime of the clock that struck twelve.

The hall was decorated brightly with Taehyung's favorite pastel colors and sparkly balloons, and only all the closest people to the Omega were invited to their little, surprise party.

Taehyung had a big beautiful smile on his face that matched with his friends and his parents, as the Omega looked at the decoration as well as the decorators, with his maroon eyes glittering in happiness.

Jiwoo and Hoseok grabbed each of the Omega's hands and pulled him towards the center, where his parents stood with a delicious strawberry shortcake.

"Thank you so much everyone!" Taehyung squealed in joy, while he received synchronized kisses on both his apple cheeks by the Alpha and Luna of the Calyx, and the Omega wiggled his eyebrows teasingly, looking at his father, who threatened to smear icing on his nose, if he didn't stop.

Taehyung cut the cake amidst the loud singing and cheers from his friends and family, as they all then stubbornly fought to feed him the strawberry toppings.

The surprise party at the Kim residence had selected people, but the actual celebratory bonfire and feast would be held for the entire pack tomorrow as per tradition, in honor of their beloved Omega's birthday.

These were the times that made Taehyung feel blessed to have such wonderful people in his life, he leaned on the coffee table and mumbled a silent thank you to the Moon Goddess, as he looked at the laughing and bickering members in front, with fond eyes.

He was about to walk back to the gathering when his hand touched an envelope that was kept on the table, with a familiar seal, it was from Alpha Jeon and was addressed to his father, the Omega examined the fresh envelope in his hands, while he recalled that the messenger from the Nova pack had arrived with this letter today evening itself.

Taehyung was about to open the letter, but got interrupted by Alpha Hyungsik, Jiwoo and Hobi who started chasing him, to smear icing on his face.

The Omega ran and managed to survive all the attacks until he was betrayed by his mother, and his friends had a blast, thoroughly enjoying the sight of Taehyung's cute whiny expressions.

The little happy gathering dispersed eventually and everyone retired to their own homes, after greeting the Kim family, good night.

Taehyung couldn't sleep a wink and so he stayed up in the hall, keeping himself busy with the task of unwrapping the gifts he received, when his eyes grazed on the letter from Alpha Jeon once again.

Unable to contain his curiosity anymore, the Omega quickly opened the letter and began reading it, and his eyes grew wider, when he came across a particular message in the letter, that one line that said, "my son is returning tonight."

Taehyung let out a gasp and immediately dropped the letter from his trembling hands, as his heart threatened to beat out of his chest, while he ran towards the open window to look outside.

Indeed, the sky was adorned with a bright, glowing full moon.

He couldn't believe it, after so many years of waiting, it felt absolutely unreal and so to convince himself of the reality, Taehyung left that very instant, rushing towards that same field near the waterfall.

He ran all the way through the forest, his heartbeat ringing in his ears, feeling so lightheaded, was he going crazy? Delusional perhaps? Would he remember? Would he be there?

A thousand questions were swirling in his mind, as the Omega finally reached the field, halting to catch his breath, filling his lungs with whiffs of fresh air, of the natural open forest.
