"Hobi Hyung we only have tonight to find clues, tell Jiwoo that once everyone goes to sleep, you both can come meet me and Jungkook in our backyard." Taehyung instructed his friend in a low voice, who nodded and walked away to pass it on to his sister.
The party was called off for the night, the huge bonfire had shrunken in size too, as a crescent moon glimmered right above it.
The gathering had dispersed, but Jungkook and his father decided to stay the night, which made Taehyung more confident to carry out his plan, he told Jungkook everything as they took a late-night walk around the fields, the suspected involvement of the Central with rogues and how Taehyung had purposely challenged Alpha Geon, so they could find some solid proof.
"You've become so brave, Tae." Jungkook complimented, with an admiring smile, to which the Omega giggled and looked up at the Alpha, with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Talking about bravery, somebody kissed my hand in front of the entire gathering tonight, what do you have to say about that hmm?" Taehyung teased the Alpha, and just as he thought, Jungkook's cheeks instantly grew rosy.
"It was to m-make you feel happy again! I did it on instinct, it was just, umm to help you, it is your birthday and you should be happy!" Jungkook adorably blabbered, but came to a halt when he felt Taehyung's soft hands, intertwining with his.
"It did make me happy again, so thank you." The Omega smiled, and Jungkook once again got lost in the warmth of those deep maroon eyes, he really couldn't put it in words, of how much Taehyung meant to him.
"You two are disgusting, seriously, I have to say I expected better from you Jeon." Kim Minho's irritating voice called out from behind them.
"A male Omega is your choice? You're a shame to the Alpha rank." Minho spat, with his hands folded.
"How dare you," Jungkook fumed as he took a step towards the insolent Alpha, but he was stopped by Taehyung's gentle grip on his shoulders, who shook his head at him.
Jungkook glared at Minho, but obediently stepped back, and watched as the Omega intently walked towards his older cousin and grabbed him right by the collar, surprising them both.
"I have had enough of your nonsense Minho Hyung, you're the one who is a shame to our pack!" Taehyung growled at the Alpha, who looked completely shaken.
"What did you think, that I wouldn't come to know why Geon Czar is here? You traitor!" Taehyung bellowed, as Minho's eyes widened in horror.
The Omega released his cousin's collar with a forceful jerk that made him fall at his feet, and the Alpha looked on in fright, as Taehyung towered over him.
"I have never protested ever before at your loathing behaviour, but that doesn't mean that I will sit and tolerate it to any extent." The Omega warned in raw fury and then bent down a little more to lock eyes with the cowering Alpha.
"You thought that Geon Czar would come and expose my true strength? I'm sorry to break it to you brother, but I never meant to hide it, and I'll let you see it with your own eyes tomorrow, how your pathetic efforts were all in vain." Taehyung spoke with a finalizing tone, as he stood back up and stepped away from Minho, who gulped and scrambled back to his feet, looking around nervously, to make sure nobody had witnessed his sorry state.
"Will you t-tell everyone a-about it?" Minho stuttered, scared out of his wits.
"I'm not like you Hyung, I don't go around back bitching about other people." Taehyung replied coldly, at which the Alpha nodded, ashamed and left with hasty steps.
Taehyung had never wanted to treat his older cousin in such a manner, but the Alpha had left him no choice, he had compromised with the pack's safety this time and the Omega couldn't overlook that.
The sudden anger that had rushed in Taehyung's body, melted away instantly, when steady arms snaked around him once again and the scent of soothing mahogany invaded his nose.
"You've grown a bit scary too, I see." Jungkook whispered in his ear playfully, and the Omega giggled in his embrace, hitting on the Alpha's arms, as he was being teased.
"I don't regret it at all, Minho Hyung has been annoying ever since he learned to speak." Taehyung replied as they stepped away, wanting to look at each other again.
Jungkook chuckled and caressed Taehyung's smooth cheek in an endearing way.
"As you should." He spoke proudly, with a wide smile that caught the Omega totally off guard, leaving him flustered and breathless.
"Let's go now, we have to meet Hobi Hyung and Jiwoo in the backyard." Taehyung quickly dragged Jungkook along, not wanting him to notice his thundering heartbeat.
When they regrouped with his friends, Taehyung explained how they could sneak in to the two rooms, where the Cypress pack members were staying, without notifying the guards, from the backdoor of the kitchen of the guest lodge, across from the main packhouse.
They split into two groups, each in one room to search for all the documents or letters that the Alphas had brought along.
Jiwoo and Hoseok sneaked into Geon Czar's room and Jungkook and Taehyung stealthily made their way to the room of the two Council officials.
Alpha Geon Czar was bratty and reckless, and it would make sense if the officials were the ones to handle the Council reports that Taehyung was looking for, and so they both began sifting through their files that were kept securely with their luggage.
After a few minutes of searching, the Omega found the Council report, but a different black colored file hidden subtly between two stacks of old archives, caught his attention.
Taehyung opened it to find a thick bundle of papers with the information of several Omegas, covering everything from their date of birth to physical appearances, all recorded in detail, and he found that extremely weird.
Most of the Omegas were from the Cypress pack, but there were others too, he recognized even the two Omegas that were abducted from the Spruce pack.
He confusedly flipped the pages, until his eyes landed on the accounts at the end of the file, under the names of all Omegas were written prices and they were marked with stamps of two different colors, red and green; out of which most of them were marked green.
The Omega froze in his spot, while his hands started to tremble at the merciless revelation.
It all came crashing down on Taehyung, as his heart clenched in pure disgust and anger, this was way more twisted than he had ever imagined it to be;
The central governing pack Cypress, was trading Omegas.
