inspired by an episode from She-Ra and the Princess of Power cuz I love lgbtq+ series.

"What the hell is this place? It has only shown stuff I don't want to remember." you groaned as you looked around. Natasha, who stood beside you with a small distance, rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

"I don't know, but from what we've seen, it's not a good place." she said and started to walk slowly, and you slowly followed after.

The place the two of you were in, had showed a lot of memories of when you and Natasha were younger. Mostly Red Room memories. How the two of you trained, the arguments you had, the good times, even when you and Natasha had managed to get into Dreykov's office, and you got into big trouble. Natasha did try to talk him out of it, tell him that it was her idea, but it didn't really help.

But that one day when she found out how she was going to escape, she told you and wanted to get you to go with her. But you refused to go with her. There were no place for the two of you to go, no money either. You thought that it was better to stay in the Red Room, since they gave you somewhere to live than on the streets.

"It's your fault that we're stuck here, Natalia." you mumbled. Natasha stopped her tracks and whipped her head over to you, her eyebrows furrowed with anger.

"My fault?! You're the one who followed me here!" she exclaimed, anger in her tone. "And stop calling me Natalia. That's not my name anymore."

"Oh, many apologies Natasha." you frowned and kept on walking.

You just kept on walking until you realized that, you had lost Natasha. She were nowhere to be seen. You called out for her a few times, but no response. You sighed and groaned, but gasped quietly when you saw your surroundings change into what looked like the Red Room sleeping area. You frowned and turned your head when you heard small sniffles.

You recognized who sat on the bed and was crying softly, with the blanket over their head. That was yourself. Or, the younger you.

"Y/N?" you heard a soft voice call out. You looked over to the side to see a younger Natasha step into the room. She carefully walked over to you and removed it from the younger you's face, making you turn your head away. "Y/N, it's okay. It's just me."

You watched how younger Natasha sat herself on the bed beside the younger you. "It doesn't matter what they do to us. You look out for me, and I look out for you. Nothing really bad can happen as long as we have each other."

"You promise?" the younger you and the older you said in unison.

"I promise." younger Natasha said and hugged younger you. "Come on, let's go back out."

You watched as the younger girls walked out of the room, holding onto each other. The younger you stopped their tracks and looked up at you. It went a minute before the younger you walked away. When she was out of sight, you had a cold face expression as your surroundings were going back to normal.

You stood by what looked like a cliff, while Natasha was hanging onto it with a rope, trying not to fall. She tried to get up, but didn't manage to.

"Hey, Natasha." you said and looked down.

"Y/N, help me. Please." Natasha said, sounding hopeful.

"Can't you do it yourself?" you said and raised an eyebrow. "You're special. That's what Dreykov always said."

"Y/N, what are you doing?" Natasha asked, the hope in her tone gone.

"Ah, you know, it all makes sense now." you stated as you walked away a few steps. "You've always been the one holding me back. You wanted me to think that I needed you. You wanted me to feel weak." you said and walked back. "Every superhero needs a sidekick, right?"

"Y/N, no, that's not how it was!" Natasha exclaimed, making you laugh a bit and bent down by the edge of the cliff.

"The sad thing is that, I've spent all this time hoping you'd come back to the Red Room, when really you leaving me was the best thing that ever happened to me." you said and you watched how Natasha's green eyes widened. "I am so much stronger than anyone ever thought."

You smirked as you cut off a bit of the rope, watching Natasha grunt as she fell down a centimeter.

"I wonder what I could've been if I had gotten rid of you sooner." you said and cut off the rest of the rope, watching Natasha fall but got a hold of a corner.

"I'm sorry! I never meant to make you feel like you were second best!" she exclaimed. "Please don't do this!"

You just looked down at her as your smirk grew wider. "Bye Natalia. I really am going to miss you."

"Y/N. Y/N, no!" you heard behind you as you walked away.
