'A soul for a soul'

You and Natasha stood by the edge of the cliff, scanning the area. You let out a sigh and looked at Natasha, who seemed deep in her thoughts. She turned to you.

"Last five years I've been trying to do everything to get here, it's all it's been about, bringing everybody back."

Natasha's eyes are filled with tears. It's true, the last five years have been filled with guilt and grief for her. She just wants the Avengers back...and this is her chance.

"No. I'm not letting you do this," you spoke.

"Y/N, there's no other way," Natasha said. She didn't give you much else to say and started to head towards the edge.

"No!" You shouted and grabbed Natasha's arm. You pulled her back and pinned her to the ground. "I'm not letting you do this."

"Y/N, let me go!" She struggled against your grip on her.

"No. I can't let you do this, Nat. What about Yelena and Clint?" You spoke softly. Tears welled up in Natasha's eyes as she stared at you.

"They would understand..." She whispered.

"Yelena needs you, Nat. I'm not letting you sacrifice yourself," you whispered.

You didn't say anything else and got up. Before Natasha had any time to react, you ran towards the edge of the cliff.

"Y/N, NO!" she yelled. She got up and quickly hurried after you. Before she could catch you, you had jumped off. She screamed after you and her tears fell more now.

You looked up at her. "I love you," you whispered before your back hit the ground and the air left your lungs.

Natasha stared down at your lifeless body as she cried. She hated herself for not being quick enough to catch you, that she couldn't stop you from doing that.

She woke up in the water afar from Vormir. She stared at the mountain and stared at the soul stone in her hand. Her tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Y/N..." She whispered and held the stone close to herself.
