The black was...nothing. It was empty. Void of hot or cold, loud or silent. Void of feelings, void of feeling. Just...blank.

Ollie was floating in it. She thought she could be confused, or maybe worried, but she couldn't bring it in her to feel anything. She just floated, waiting for whatever came next.

"You stupid fucks!" a loud voice suddenly broke through the nothingness, "How could you let this happen?"

Murmuring voices replied, but Ollie couldn't catch what they said.

"HOTDOGS?!" the voice screeched, "You pooched her schedule because you were arguing about HOTDOGS??"

Silence.

"Well fucking fix it," the voice went on, "This is your mess up, you spend the energy to make it right."

Silence.

A flicker of light.

Another.

Both lights were small, but they made unpatterned trails through the darkness, coming nearer and nearer to what Ollie could only think was her...body?

Her...what?

Closer to her

She watched as they reached her, swirling and dancing around, covering her in warmth and...Ouch!

Damn that hurts!

A gasp of air, bright lights, people in masks and blue clothes. Another gasp of air.

"She's back! Let's get her to OR, now!"

A plastic cup thing was placed over her mouth and nose. Two blond men looking at her in pity. Pain erupting from every cell in her body.

"Move NOW!"

Darkness.

But this one felt different than the one before.

It was loud.

"I can't believe you let this happen."

"Me? You're not so innocent yourself."

"This is your fault. If you hadn't -"

"Did...she just move?"

"She hasn't moved in days."

"She moved, I swear."

Ollie's eyes tried to flutter open, but they were too heavy for her to control. Eventually they opened on their own, just a little, revealing the two blond men she had seen before. They were looking at her with concern, making her furrow her eyebrows and then wince in pain at the movement. Both men bit their lips as they silently watched Ollie try to speak, then stop when she choked on the tubed crammed down her throat.

"I'm telling you, Jason, she's probably braindea - Oh shit!" Delilah's voice was louder than it needed to be as they walked into the room, louder than Ollie wanted it to be, "Get a nurse! She's trying to move!"

Scrambling. Voices. Lights. Reassuring words with her name involved, and still the two men just stood by, watching.

"Olivia, you were in an accident," a calming voice made its way to her, the face of a man in a hospital mask entering her vision, "I'm Doctor Jung. Can you squeeze my hand?" His eyes crinkled as he smiled when she complied, "Good. Good. Now, I'm going to take your breathing tube out, okay?" Ollie tried to nod her head, but the doctor hushed her, putting his warm hand on her forehead to calm her, "I need you to cough for me, hard as you can. One, two, three..."

Ollie coughed, gagging as the tube slid out of her throat. It was gross and made her want to heave, but there was nothing to bring up and her throat calmed a bit. The doctor gave her an eye smile once again.
