Chapter Thirteen

Why me!

Saskia's POV

After Dad and Willis left me at the border, I opened the truck door to see Antonio's beta Sam driving.

"Hi Saskia, I'm taking you to our pack, Alpha apologized for not being here"

"that's fine, thank you for collecting me"

"no problem"

I had time to think about us, me and Antonio. What was going to happen? Did I really want this, a future with him. Once I agree there's no going back.

We arrived early hours, I take my normal room while I have stayed in the past, I thanked the beta, he explained that Vincent had left to see an old friend and made apologies he would miss my visit, I did miss seeing him. I took my backpack and lay down on my bed and went fast asleep.

I dreamed about my mate again, I do this regularly but it felt so real or maybe wishful thinking because he's the sweetest and kind mate you could ever have and I know that's not going to happen.

I could hear my door slam, I lift myself from my bed to see an angry Antonio looking at me

"morning"

"why are you here?"

"I thought it would be alright since you asked me to stay for a couple of weeks"

He gave me a weak smile, he looked different since the last time I seen him. He looked tired and older but a lot more sullen even for an alpha

"silly girl, I meant you should be in my bed, staying with me properly as my Luna and lover"

"I just thought it would be like last time"

He sat by my bed and looked at me

"things have changed since then, I need you to step up for me now and take your place officially. And in my bed its not like you're a virgin anymore"

I couldn't reply, that made my stomach sink. It hurt on so many levels because I gave that to someone I thought I loved but he didn't want me and I wasn't quite ready then but with the bond it takes hold of you.

I followed him for breakfast, he didn't say much. He had a few issues on the borders, I offered to help around the pack village, I always enjoyed coming here to talk to the people.

I walked through the lanes, nodding to a few people, I noticed a clinic that was really busy. I went through the door, the patients bowed to me.

"hi, would you like some help"

I spoke to one of the nurses.

"that would be great, thanks"

I worked for a few hours, it was lovely to see Antonio's pack members. They were really kind to me.

One of the mom's took me to one side to whisper to me, which was weird as we were all werewolves.

"he's going mad, you need to help us, please"

And just like that she left quickly.

I knew who she meant and I can see it but how can I.

I made it back to the alpha headquarters, the cook greeted me.

"sorry the alpha has been kept away, he told me to say to dine by yourself, he will be back soon"

I managed to eat some of the steak that was put on the table. Back of my mind there was something telling me that there was big trouble here and I was in the middle not sure what to do.
