Chapter Fourteen

What is this?

Saskia POV

I run to the farthest side of the lake, I push myself trying to get Antonio out of my head. I didn't want to end our friendship like it had. I need to see dad later, not looking forward to that.

I'm still listening to music loudly. I stop for a breather.

I could sense something around me. I'm stupid for cutting myself from all my senses, it could be anyone.

I turn to see someone tall person running along the track, it looks a lot like James but it can't be.

He's getting closer, I still don't know what was happening. Was I delusional, did Antonio bite me harder than I thought.

He's standing in front of me, smiling.

"to say you looked surprised is an understatement"

"but, why, I don't know why"

I wasn't making sense at all.

"I have been here a little while, staying and I have been running here every morning"

"is it a pack thing, no one has said anything"

"you could call it that"

"oh, I will try to keep out of your way. I need to get back to college soon"

I did want to stay with my family for Christmas but I can't be around him and his pack members.

"you don't need to do that"

"it would be for the best"

My heart hurts again.

He looked upset.

"looks like you were a bat out of hell running just now"

And he changes the subject.

"I like to clear my mind"

"you can out run me, when you get started"

"don't think that's possible since your alpha"

"I believe you can"

He is just looking at me.

I feel self conscious, I have my running top and leggings on, hair tied up in a knot on top of my head, I look a mess. Him on the other hand. He's in his running gear looking really good, maybe he can give tips to Antonio.

It hurt just seeing him again.

"I need to keep running, maybe I will see you later"

"can I join you"

"if its alright with you, I like to run alone"

He doesn't have an emotion on his face and just nods.

I start to run off the track so it wasn't awkward and not to see him again when I'm trying to get back home.

I run for a while, not my normal route.

I eventually make it back home. I missed training with my brother and breakfast. My mom has left the house leaving me home alone.

I showered and changed in my fighting gear. I thought I could use the pack gym for a while.

I make my way to the gym, when I see dad and my brother talking about the new property that's being built, they were outside, pointing at the roof for some reason.

Willis comes running at me.

"welcome home little one"

I hold him, a little too tightly. I missed him and felt alone for some strange reason.
