Chapter 5

Huffing, I walked into my house with a giant bruise on my left arm. I dropped my things on a random table to my right and walked to the kitchen, smelling the beautiful smell of pasta. I shut my eyes for a second, engulfing the sweet aroma; oh, how I love pasta.

Leaning on my mother’s shoulder, I whispered in her ear, “When’s dinner going to be done?”

Mom chortled, but replied, “In about an hour.”

I nodded my head, yawned, and walked up the steps, only stopping to say, “Tell me when it’s done.”

I slouched up the steps, ready to fall asleep, yet not tired. I walked through my room and stepped in something gushy. A stench reached my nostrils as I looked down at the unpleasant substance. I glared at it in disgust. I can’t believe I forgot about my vomit today.

I made a BLECK noise as I hopped across my floor on one foot. This was so not my day; first vomiting on my floor, next a creepy dream, then maniacs holding balls, the maniac threw balls at my poor body, and then stepping in my unpicked up vomit after my dreadful day, just perfect.

Finally reaching a bathtub, I dropped my foot into the hollow inning. I turned the water on to a nuke warm and scrubbed it like my life depended on it. I glared as the sticky stuff slowly slid off of my poor foot. I will never do that again. Whatever it was I did to make me spew.

Sighing loudly, I grabbed a random cleaning tool and walked back to my room. I got on my knees and scrubbed away the foul upchuck.

Tired, and worn out, I jumped onto my soft covers, awaiting for sleep to envelope me in its sweetness. That was, until dinner was finished.

“Kurai, dinner’s ready!” Mom yelled from downstairs.

I groaned and flopped off of my bed. Dragging my feet down our steps and into the dining room where the delicious smell drifted through my nostrils. I sat in a random seat next to the noodles, and started to through it with a fork-like-object. Shoving a big fork fool of spaghetti into my mouth, my mother started a conversation.

I shoved the noodles into my mouth, not caring about getting red sauce on the edges of my lips. I shoved another fork full in, waiting for a conversation to start; knowing that there’s always something good and bad going on with my mom.

“So, do you want the good news or bad news first?” My mother questioned.

“I’d like the bad news first, as per usual.” I answered.

“I’m going to be out of town for about two weeks, business trip. I’m expecting to get an over pay from my boss.” She answered slyly, staring down at her spaghetti.

“When will you be leaving?” I didn’t really care that she was going away for two weeks. It never bothered me before, and it definitely won’t bother me now. I’m not saying that she’s a horrible mother, she’s actually really wonderful and nice, but she went out of town a lot.

          “In about two weeks.”

“What’s the good news?” Usually the good news would be something stupid, like, ‘You can do whatever you want while I’m gone,’ or, ‘you can skip school the whole time.’ There seriously stupid.

“You’re going to visit your dad while I’m off.”

I threw down my fork, making a clank noise as it hit the glass plate, and glared at my mom. “What makes you think that the good news would ever be ‘dad’ coming to visit? I don’t even know him for freaks sake! I don’t to go, near him, and I don’t ever want to hear of him again! You can tell him I don’t want him around me for as long as I live! I’m not going!”
